Were those Boone's golf clubs he was playing with? If they were, was it a sign that the 5 iron had been struck with lighting? Considering Irons are used while for precision shots from fairways as well as from the rough, why would Paulo give it up so easily?

Well, all he would need really was a driver to hit things into the ocean? Maybe he just didn't care. Does Paulo remind anyone else of Boone?
