Ok so I'm a litle peeved that I cant use Merth for my chars name. I have never seen anyone else with that name until getting on WoW. I checked armory and it seems there are 69 Merths listed. Are there 69 different realms or can you have multiple chars with same name as it tells me when i try to create that name is unavailable? Also when I check my char in armory it shows me in a BG which I know I have never participated in?

There is a limitation of one unique name per server. Petra was taken, so I had to play around with her name in order to sound remotely like me lol.
You can add something to the end of Merth in order to have the name, maybe a fantasy style last name to fit into the RP role? Or do something silly like MerthMaster! LOL
Or try adding an "e" at the end ie: Merthe?

Darklis is another UO name I have always used, and was surprised I was able to use it on Paranolde. I saw a LOT of Darklis's on WoW. I created a char on BlackWater with that name, just to reserve it for later LOL.

I made characters with names I like and just sit them there, and do what you do petra, I just reserve their names. Nobody ever has TheBo though(but wow uncapitalizes the B, so it looks like Thebo..) Me and my best friend and his wife all made Emporers New groove characters, Kuzko, Kronk, Yzma. I think my char, Kronk, a lock, is like lvl 10 and hasnt moved in 7 months..

The battleground group is just what you are asigned for your server, wether you ever do BG or not. Its so you can go see what servers you are grouped with and against.
