Star Trek: Birth of the federation

Does anyone else here play this game?
It's a turn based star trek game, created by Microprose a few years back.

Ugh

I wouldn't bother with this game, have you ever played it online? Talk about unstable!
Besides my copy crashes about every 100 turns (normally at the start of a battle, or randomly freezes)
And that's with the latest patch, heh

It stiks that such a popular franchise has never been very successfully ported to a game enviornment.

I did have one original Star Trek game for the pc (Win 3.11 days) that was an adventure type of game that was pretty fun and fairly good working. Cant rememer then name of it for the like of me...

Any console ST games have always been lack-luster to say the least.

Im playing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic right now. Its pretty good...a bit buggy at times, but kinda neat play. Worst thing is trying to figure out equipment and upgrade stuff. I accidentally upgraded some weapons to a point that Im not sure if ny of my chars are going to be able to ever use them...

One of the ST games I did find amusing, was "Starfleet academy"
Came on 5 cd's!

Bit frustrating, but for it's time, it was a good game (imo)

Have you ever had this happen in BOTF, Kettle?

Over 100 ships! Gah

I obviously, didn't win that battle, lol

Hmm, a borg cube VS two non combat ships.....what to do.........RAM it!! hehe

(For some reason the borg cube shows up as a brown cube, as opposed to the normal borg cube graphic)
