Re: A spotlight on... FINAL FANTASY!

Well so far it has just been 10 and 10-2 for the PS2, 12 is coming out in the fall just before the PS3 launches.

10-Was a good storyline, the story revoled around Titus and a monster named Syn. Titus was from the past and he comes to the furture and finds his world destroyed. And the current world is under siege by Syn, Summoners are the other focus of the game, the summoners travel to the city of Zankirin(sp) which is titus' home town to defeat syn.

Was a decent story, wasn't as good as some of the others. But I must say the only reason this kinda didn't do so well is because of the Dubbing. A LOT of people disliked the fact that they used voice actors and dubbed it, contrary to the previous FFs which were 100% text and no voices.

10-2....well I can't even really start into the summary of that without ruining then end of 10.

Re: A spotlight on... FINAL FANTASY!

FF7 FTW.. I loved that game.. i was so hooked on the game when it first came out i spent hours and hours behind the tv trying to figure everything out on my own and then finally breaking down a getting a guide (unofficial guide rocked )..

I started to get in to 8 and then one of my brother's friend's kid scratched the hell out of the 2nd disc so i stopped .

I think FF7 was my first real RPG and i have yet to really fall for one the way i did with it... I wish FFXI would incorporate some of FF7 in it.. if they did i might reopen my accounts

I've never figured out how to be gracefully humble without appearing weak.

Nor have I figured out how to be gracefully passionate without appearing arrogant.

In the end, I always seem to be arrogant and weak instead of humbly passionate.

Re: A spotlight on... FINAL FANTASY!

Im SOOOO late on this post but I HAD to voice my opinion on it. Im a HUGE ff fan. Been playing the series since 1 on the NES... was my first RPG and the rest is history.

My list from best to worst that Ive played... this is gonna be so hard...

FFT
FF3(6)
FF7
FF1
FF10
FF2(4)
FF8
FF9
FFX-2

Like Min, I left out the gamecube and gameboy versions as well as some others I never played. I played the Gamecube version for like 10 mins and didnt like it :\

Ill only give my opinion on the ones Min didnt name because he basicaly hit the nail on the head with everyone.

FF3(6)... One of the best of the series. Theres like 22 characters, an awesome spell system, great storyline, cool characters, awesome skills... Ill just stop cause I could go on forever. If you havent played it Min, download an emulator and spend some hours on it.

FF2(4)... Pretty cool. Kind of an upgraded FF1.

FF1... A classic. Simple and sweet 'save the world' type of game. If you havnt played it, DO SO. its not long... it can be beat and enjoyed while doing so in less than 30 hours.

FF12 is going to be GREAT. I played the demo that comes with DQ8... The battle system is probably the best part of the game. I cant wait for it. I peed my pants when I first played it.

Ill definately be trying FF7oG. Vincent was always one of my favorite characters in FF7 so, naturally, his own game would rock!

Re: A spotlight on... FINAL FANTASY!

I must admit, I'm more than a little bit of a latecomer to the Final Fantasy Stable ...

I wasn't that fond of seven, Aeris/Aerith annoyed me, and the graphics are a little ... I feel rather more fond of Six (Deep, deep love for Kefka as a villain) ... sprites look more fun to me than so/so 3D, even if it was 'good for the time'.

FF-10, I'm actually quite a fan of, I like the plot, characters who Annoyed me at first, have actually grown on me a fair bit as the game has continued (Rikku and Yuna turned out to be a lot more involving than they seemed at first, and Tidius actually acquired some depth and reflection ... I didn't expect that ).

The voice acting was ... a stretch, at first, but having done my time watching Japanese Cartoons, I can live with Dire Dubbing, and it was only really Tidius and Wakka who really got to me.
