Need help with video

Trying to explore compressing videos but the quality sucks even though I set the configuration to max in quality any suggestions? Any suggestion on what programs you used to compress videos?

Here is a sample video of me messing around in WoW. It looks even worse after uploading it into YouTube!

Re: Need help with video

I would suggest looking for something that can covert your video file into an avi file. I use a program called Plato that converts my DVD movies to watch on my PDA. Converts a whole movie on to a 512mb memory stick and has excellent playback quality.

Re: Need help with video

Youtube, like most video sites, suck in terms of video quality
They compress/recode them to make them streamable, which means yucky video quality.
How big is the original file?

Re: Need help with video

Ick heh
Not sure what to suggest, youtube is the only site to my knowledge that auto converts videos and the like
If you wanted to convert your own to DIVX/XVID or WMV, then host it, you'd have to find a host able to host such files
Hosting such things here isn't gonna happen due to the size of the videos.

Re: Need help with video

I tend to do it the manual way, using virtual dub and the DIVX or XVID codec
Try this site - http://www.videohelp.com/oldguides/avi2divx

Re: Need help with video

Adam, thx for link, I was using VirtualDub but I was using full process mode rather than fast recompress. Looks better, when I have time I will try to post the video again.
