Looking for Intro writers!
Ok, so im looking for people who can write a short introduction about other MMO's they play. Only needs to be about 100 words, whats that like 15-20 lines? Just something about an MMO to give people a feel for the game.
Think of it as... Well, we all know WoW right? Bright game, otsa monster bashing, but what is the world actually about? What do you do in it? Whats a raid when its at home? Get the idea? If i get a few in ill sticky them in a single thread at the top of the page. ![]() ![]() |

Re: Looking for Intro writers!
World of Warcraft: This game was put out by Blizzard and was release for retail 22 Novemember 200'4. This game is another part of the on going storyline from the original Warcraft. They decided to pick Warcraft because it was the easiest to turn into an MMORPG. They choosed to make the graphics more cartoony for systems easier to handle and run so it becomes more of an "Everybody game" but yet still be in 3D graphics and runs very smoothly.
When you go to make your character you will see 2 diffrent factions you can be apart of "Horde or Alliance." Most people think the Alliance are the good guys, but if you keep up with the storyline both have done thier "pros" and "cons" After you enter game, modifying your character on how you want it to look and what class you wish he or she to be, now what? There will be a person a front of you with "!" above there head this mean they have a quest. The majority of the game is based on quest and questing will gain your repuation depending who you get the quest "from." So far there is four known "Alliance" and "Horde" repuations you can earn. Faction name Horde - race and (racial mount) Orgrimmar - Orcs (worg) Thunderbluff - Taurean (Kodo) Undercity - Undead (Skeletal Horse) Darkspear Trolls - Trolls (Raptor) Alliance: Stormwind - Humans (Horse) Gnomeregan Exiles - Gnomes (Mechanical Strider) Darnassus - Night Elves (Big cat) Ironforge - Dwarves (goat) With these quest you gain repuation and can reduce prices when you are in the city buying from an NPC, this will happen when you hit "Honored" with them. If you manage to hit "Exhalted" You will beable to ride the mount that is considered a "Racial Mount." Quest also bring in prizes for your character and money. As you get higher usually the prizes are greater and you gain more money. There is diffrent types of quest some you can do on your own, others require grouping, some are called "elite" and might need atleast 5 people unless you are so high level that you can knock them around. Of course last but not least... raid quest those can be from 10 to 40 man required to do them. What is this leveling you talk about? Not familar with levels eh? It is just a game mechanic that is apart of WoW is actually apart of alot of other games. So far current date you start from 1 to 60 and once you are 60 you can not go no higher and there is no experience bar it disappers from your screen. The levels just show how experienced your character is. Just like in Ultima Online better your skill it the better you fight and the tougher mobs you can fight. Same thing except it "shows" where that persons skills are. Everytime you level everything goes up by 5 but you must earn them skill ups or you are not going to be so good in it when may come a time you want to use them. But no fear, in WoW your skills go up VERY quickly, so say you seen a mace you wanted on sale but your skill is at zero, just buy it and go out and hit lower level creatures even if they are level 1 and you are for example 39. It will sky rocket quickly! ***Side note on PvP. I can not go too indepth with it sense I never been into myself but I can tell you all I know for a fact.*** PvP of course, Warcraft has always been about wars and going up against each other, this is a big part of the game. When you go PvP you gain honor, experience, money, and repuation but for a diffrent faction from the ones I listed from above. People do this for the challenge of having to defeat someone that is "not" an NPC and plsu you get prizes and such. You can PvP / duel anyone, anywhere! People do it all the time, weather it be practice or trying to gain honor kills. The honor kills, sadly I don't know much of this part I just know it is a good thing. Dishonorable kills, Blizzard has not implamented anything on this part, unless they find it to be a big problem and then they will do something about it. Raiding another HUGE section of World of Warcraft, once you are 60 that is mostly what you do. Usually by this time people has found guilds they want to be apart of and they do special events with the guild to go raid for fun or questing. This is where the "best" gear / items come from and that drives people to wanting to do alot of raids. Quest, PvP, and Raids are the main focus in the World of Warcraft. If you like doing all 3 of these then this game is perfect for you! It is an easier to play type of game and easy for people to understand and learn. ***Personal Opinion on WoW*** It is okay game truthfully, but I do not like PvP and Raiding. I have tried raiding and it was okay, but gets old really fast but I know some people who just LOVE it and I am glad they do ^_^ And the questing wasn't so bad but after all the characters I have made and such. You are doing the same quests spots all over again. Blizzard keeps adding new content which is cool but still, after awhile the quest that you have done in the past with other characters gets boring. I have played both Alliance and Horde all the way to 60, it was fun but WoW is not quite for me sense 2 of the 3 isn't my type of thing, but who knows! You might like it, give it a try. ^_^ ***I would write about other games but I do not think it will be good as this one. I could have technically gone on more about it but you said "intro" and I think I already passed that as is hehe.*** -RMS Carpathia- |

Re: Looking for Intro writers!
Thanks! I hope it was informative, I tried to pick out the most important stuff. I have played other MMORPG's too so if you want me to write about them let me know but I want others to have a chance ^_^
