Hasbro, Electronic Arts reach digital games pact

Quote:
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Electronic Arts Inc. (ERTS.O) and Hasbro, Inc. (HAS.N) on Friday said they have made a licensing agreement to create electronic versions of some of Hasbro's most popular games including Monopoly, Scrabble and Yahtzee.

Under the agreement, which runs through 2013, Redwood City, California-based Electronic Arts will hold worldwide rights to create the digital games for electronic devices including mobile telephones and over the Internet.

"Our toy and game brands have been family-favorites for decades, and aligning ourselves with EA will result in broadening the reach of our brands," said Brian Goldner, Hasbro's chief operating officer, in a joint company statement.

The first games are to be launched in 2008. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The Star Wars Monopoly was kind of neat. I don't remember who made it though.
