The Burning Crusade delayed

Should we blame EA??

Quote:
The Burning Crusade delayed
Bad news for all seven million players of MMORPG World of Warcraft: Its first expansion, The Burning Crusade, has been pushed back until January 2007, instead of the planned holiday release. Burning Crusade adds two new player races to the game, extends the level cap to 70, and introduces a new continent for players to explore. Blizzard president Mike Morhaime said in a statement: "We feel confident that the extra time spent polishing the game will result in the high-quality experience that our players expect and deserve."

Re: The Burning Crusade delayed

Lol yeah they say January now... I play WoW at the moment but I am still a UO'er at heart and rather be here playing... but my friends are all there and like me to come and hang out and then I got one friend who totally rejects UO even though he never has even played it... so I will never see him in Sosaria.. my sweetheart his native game was EQ (EverQuest) so him playing WoW makes sense for the fact it is a watered down EQ kind of... but least he tried UO out so that makes me happy when he has a "real" opinion to express.

Lol they hear a diffrent ton from me when I play WoW and UO... they can tell I am MUCH happier in UO haha! But... none of them are there so... yeah =/

Oops sorry went off subject a little there hehe

BC (Burning Crusade) sounds like it will be good and bad... Blizzard claims they will no longer support 56k people, for the fact the patches are just going to get MUCH larger so hopfully whoever plays WoW here doesn't get screwed on that. So it being delayed is a good thing for the 56k folk...

Here is the e-mail I sent to the WoW tech support for the 56k question.

Subject: about the internet connection for BC

I have a friend who runs on 56K. Now when Burning Crusade comes out and say he does NOT get the expansion right away, will he still beable to play the original game without needing a fast internet connection? Or will he have to get a faster internet speed even to play the original game as well as Burning Cursade?

Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you soon! ^_^

Hello Carpathia,

Thanks for contacting Blizzard Technical Support, my name is Jon. An active broadband internet connection is required to download patches for The Burning Crusade. We will only be able to support broadband related issues regarding downloading patches for The Burning Crusade. World of Warcraft is perpetually evolving and pushing technology to its limits. Therefore, as the game expands, the patches will also increase in size. The limitations of a dial-up connection do not allow us to deliver cutting edge content within a reasonable amount of time. While it may be possible to connect to our game and patch using a dial-up connection, a broadband connection is highly recommended.

We do realize the strain this may place on our current Dialup users who will need these some of these patches to play in the current areas. Please keep checking the forums and website for announcements of new developments regarding this issue.

Sincerely,

Jon D.

My friend who never tried UO out did say one compliment to EA... with them using low graphic requirement makes them the smarter people so they welcome all instead of just the broadband people...

And hope Jon D. didn't mind me posting though I doubt he sees this hehe.

Re: The Burning Crusade delayed

Funny thing Carp, is he never really did answer your question. He never touched the part about NOT upgrading to BC.

Re: The Burning Crusade delayed

The price for playing a "high tech" game. Unfortunately, that price has taken a toll on my machine, which makes it difficult to play at times (not the connection, necessarily, but the game runs terribly on it).

However I would say that the tech support answered the question (though certainly not the best answer) when he said:

Still we loom in the mists as the ages roll away,
And we say of our folk, "they are here!"
That they built us and they died and you'll not be knowing why,
Save we stand on the bare plains of Wiltshire.

Re: The Burning Crusade delayed

UO Forever! Is all I got to say hehe...

I cancelled my sub-scription yet again... I know my friends really want me there hanging with them but I am just not to happy with the game... just feel eympty... feel something is missing... And UO never left me with that feeling.

It sucks being the only UO'er in a large group of WoW'ers or EQ'ers and WoW is watered down EQ hehe pretty much anyway... Oh well. Only reason I was even playing was for friends but I just can not take it no more... just can't play it... it just isn't for me. I am 100 times happier in UO so sticking to it! ^_^

Oh wait this thread is about BC not about how great UO is to me hehe.. err well okay... Uhh hmm

I have read new things on the new expansion it sounds like it would be intresting for a little while but to actually stick with it... it would be for exploring and playing with the new talent trees they got waiting for when the new expansion does come out http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/burni...nd-spells.html but after that, I be back here on my home world of Sosaria!

Re: The Burning Crusade delayed

I played WOW almost the first 2 years it came out. It was fun leveling to 60 but back then to get uber gear you had to do 40 man raids on Molton Core which then took almost 6 hours and u wouldn't even complete it. It just took too much of my time I still have friends that play but a couple of us have switch back over to UO, FTW!!!!!
