Along the pathways
and byways, in the
mountain ways,
The Lady stands
whilst admidst them I
wander so many, so
grand.
Unhurried.

Unharried, cold winds
sing me her songs,
of short ways,
of longways, of
ancient ways since
gone. Then softly as
iron dust lying as
quietly so too...

A brightly lit crevice
opens, the Lady bids
me thru...
Another life, another
day, Another song
now the Fates sing...
A miner's pick lies
there broken...

A bard's bells may
never ring.
Lowland flowers may
never open,
Yet the Lady's reign
begins anew.
Thus the gods deem
things...

I revel in the
mountains morning
Picnic by its light.
Pick the high
mountain flowers
growing in the
mountain's light...
In mountain night

sup we as one at
ancient tables
befitting kings the
servants have all
entered, the dinner
bells yet still ring.
Have we then all in a
place called lifeless -

dead
the Lady reclines
there laughing on a
couch laced with gold thread.
Thus with gleaming
goblets held high,
To her we chant to the

music of a past bard's
cry.
I laugh then a laugh, I
shake my head
once - awakened...?
thinking of a mortal's day...

narrowness and
confinement
traveling life only
within its ways...

lowlands from mining
in the high mountains
[A side note
concerning Humble
Harry]

Humbel was known to
my great grand father
as a child who became
renown magician then
one day went into
the high mountains
and came back
without his memory

or his knowledge. He
became a miner
thereafter.
There is a mystery
herein. There is no
elven blood in his
family and yet he
does not show his

age. What is in the
mountains that
succors him in some
arcane way that he
appears to always be
in the height of his
youth? The only clue
is herein this tale.

For I truly say to you
the reader on that day
he arrived to see me
the light of
intelligence was in
his eyes as of old
with a wit that I had
not seen for many a

year, but sadly the
light faded again with
his strength and his
proweress as a miner
again. All the
healers consulted
only shrug and
sigh... see me quietly

answer for me but

he would only become
angry trying to
remember what can
only have been taken
