[Gargoyle] Gargoyle Realm

[Shard] - Sosaria
[Type] - Garish
[Book] - Purple - 40 pages

[Title] - Gargoyle Realm

[Author] - Stormcrow

[Page 1]
This book is a
transcript of some of
the information I have
gathered about the newly
opened realm of
Gargoyles. These
creatures have long been
treated as just beasts

[Page 2]
or animals, something to
be killed on sight.
However after ye read
this book and the two
appendices I am certain
ye will think it over.
On the first day of
the exploration I set on

[Page 3]
the journey with Aelf an
Raya. We entered the
world of Ilshenar via the
Compassion moongate and
headed south towards the
gypsy town. A newly
carved entrance was
indeed there a bit south

[Page 4]
from the town itself. W
stepped through and found
ourselves in a canyon
previously unreachable by
any means. Immediately w
noticed the precense of
several different
monsters around. Among

[Page 5]
them hell hounds and
fierce drakes.
To the south from th
passage we spotted some
ruins resembling a huge
castle. Approaching it we
noticed that it was not
much more than just the

[Page 6]
base of some long fallen
fortification now filled
with monsters.
Fighting our way
southwards we found an
intact piece of the castl
- the south wing. We
soon located a door on

[Page 7]
its west side. The
surroundings were filled
with golems, their
controllers, savages and
other hostile beings.
After a while we
managed to move into th
building and made our wa

[Page 8]
to the solitary room
there. We located a diar
on the table. A copy of
it can be found near thi
book, named "Temple
Diary".
After copying the book
and getting seriously

[Page 9]
hammered we decided to
retreat from the canyon
to study our findings.
The day two study I
owe to my old man
Morgan who with Ben'Ji
(Aelf's friend) made
another exploration to

[Page 10]
that place. They used
their stealth tactics to
move (mostly) unnoticed
through the enemies.
Continuing the search
from the building they
discovered another book
upstairs. A copy of this

[Page 11]
book is aswell attached
and titled "Translated
Gargoyle Journal". We
also found an empty
torture room upstairs.
Next we left the
south wing of the castle
and headed west towards

[Page 12]
a mountain pass in the
horizon. Beyond the pass
there were several valley
dug into the rock. The
one we entered first
contained a lot of earth
elementals.
To the north from

[Page 13]
here there was a desert
valley full of various
monsters. We also now
spotted the first of the
gargoyles. These seemed
hostile towards us but
had chains around their
necks and hands. Most

[Page 14]
probably one of those
"re-educated".
To the west from the
desert valley we entered
what seemed to be the
center of the gargoyle
city. It also was full of
different monsters and

[Page 15]
we made a careful
progress onward.
Throughout the city we
saw great pillars with
magical spheres on top o
them. Their function did
not seem too apparent
but I have a feeling they

[Page 16]
have something to do
with the enslaved
gargoyles.
Among the buildings we
discovered at least
librarys, provisioner's
shops, smithys, armouries
and magery shops with

[Page 17]
fresh spell reagents being
grown! This proves that
the Gargoyles are indeed
civilized folk. Truly sad
was to see their city
now a city of slaves.
Finally in the western
end of the city we found

[Page 18]
a large smithy with
devices I have never seen
before. Huge forges and
machinery hints that this
might the place the
golems are constructed in
We left the city
without finding a single

[Page 19]
trace of any friendly
gargoyles. If we are ever
going to lead an
expedition to free the
poor gargoyles, count me
in!
Our travels continued
however. To the north of

[Page 20]
the desert valley there
was what seemed to be
huge mining site with a
large pool of lava in the
middle. Undead were
roaming around and we
found some ruins there.
Could it be this also has

[Page 21]
been a city of some kind
before?
At the mid-section of
the western wall of this
valley we discovered
another passage. This one
led out of the gargoyle
realm aswell.

[Page 22]
At the north end we
found a gargoyle mining
camp with more enslaved
gargoyles. Are they still
digging for more material
for the construction of
the golems? Are they
trying to uncover more

[Page 23]
of the ruins there? Who
knows.
