[Title] - West of Trinsic Vol.II
[Author] - Salvius

[Page 1]

Book I

The
Seven
Questions

[Page 2]

"Son," said the
monk, "I sense that
there is great evil
about you, and yet
great good at the same
time. Tell me, how

[Page 3]
can I trust you?"

I handed him my
sword.

"Good," he said. "No
true villian would give
a perfect stranger his

[Page 4]
only means of
defense. Here. Have
it back. Now, why
have you come here?"

I told him my story
from the beginning,
concluding with this

[Page 5]
question: "What
weapon is capable of
such a task? What
weapon can destroy
pure evil?"

"How do you destroy
something evil?" he

[Page 6]
asked.

"With something good,"
I answered.

"What is the greatest
good?"

[Page 7]
"Love."

"Where is love to be
found?"

"In the deepest pits,
the most horrible
dungeons, the highest

[Page 8]
mountains, and the
most beautiful plains."
"What does the
highest form of love
come from?"

"The most trying
situations, and the

[Page 9]
toughest barriers."

"Where are the most
trying situations, the
toughest barriers, the
greatest good, and the
worst evil?"

[Page 10]
"My heart."

"How can your heart
be opened?"

"Complete rest of
mind."

[Page 11]
"Where is the most
peaceful and
undisturbed place in
Sosaria?"

"Sondolix, the Ice
Beyond the Sea."

[Page 12]
"Go in peace, my son."

Book II
The
Road
to
Victory

[Page 14]
I stepped off the
ship onto the icy
tundra. I paid the
captain his fee, and he
sailed off. Looking out
over the icy plain, I
wondered what could

[Page 15]
possibly be there that
would benefit my
quest. I made my
camp on a hill by the
sea, and sat down to
achieve total
relaxation.
For five days, I

[Page 16]
neither slept nor ate,
and then finally I
realized something.
The only total peace of
mind is acheived
through death, and
next to that, sleep. So,
with that in mind, I

[Page 17]
ate my supper and
went to bed. That
night, I dreamed of an
ice cave somewhere on
the island where I
would find the tools I
needed to kill the
daemon.

[Page 18]
It took me a week to
search the island, but
on the northern tip, I
found an ice cave, and
inside were two
things. One was a
sword, literally
glowing with magic,

[Page 19]
and the other a shield,
made of solid gold. It
woo was sparkling.
I found a hermit
who agreed to take me
back to the mainland
for 'a small fee.' That
'small fee' was the

[Page 20]
equivalent of a round
trip to Nujel'm, all
expenses paid. But
Filia was worth it.
It took me a week
to reach the abandoned
manor. Once inside, I
yelled.

[Page 21]
I have returned to
strike thee dead, pond
scum!"

I have never seen
anything attack
that fast. He sprang
up from below,

[Page 22]
casting a huge pillar of
fire at me. I thought
for sure I was dead,
and then, my shield
moved itself to block
the spell. He
screamed with rage,
and, drawing his

[Page 23]
sword, rushed
straight for me. It
was then that I
realized what my
sword and shield
were made of. They
were made of pure
love and good!

[Page 24]
My shield blocked
his first blow, and I
struck him on the
head with my sword.
It cleaved his evil
helmet in two. He
screamed and lunged
at me. I stepped aside,

[Page 25]
and as he passed, I
drove my sword into
his side. I was not
even hindered by his
armour. He yelled,
keeled over, and died.
I pulled my sword out
and put it in my

[Page 26]
sheath. I was ready to
return.

[Page 27]
Book III
Doom
and
Hope

[Page 28]
I arrived at my
house two weeks
later. I noticed a tomb
stone out front with
my father's name on
it. My brother was
sitting on the front

[Page 29]
porch. The minute he
saw me, he ran down
the stairs to me.

"Is it really you?"

"Aye, Jacob, 'tis me"

[Page 30]
"Thou hast changed,
Elden. Did you kill
it?"

"Aye. Where is she?"
I asked eagerly.

"Well, she came back,

[Page 31]
telling us what had
happened. After a
month, we gave you up
for lost. She went
off to Bucaneer's Den
to mourn. Father died
three weeks later..."

[Page 32]
Before he could
finish, I was off to
Bucaneer's Den.
I leaped on to the
dock and ran to the
address she had left
me. I knocked on the
door.

[Page 33]
"No! It can't be!
Elden?"

She jumped into
my arms, but didn't
kiss me. Suddenly, I
jumped back. Her
beautiful hair had been

[Page 34]
dyed purple. She had
on full bone armour,
and was carrying a
bloody axe.

"Elden, ye must meet
my fiance', Lord
Mors."

[Page 35]
Dread Lord Mors
stepped out from the
shadows. He reeked
of blood, and had a
sneer on his face.

"So you're the fake
who says he killed the

[Page 36]
Lord of All Evil. HA!
If you did, where's
his head?"

"He was made of fire.
He didn't have one."

"Sure..."

[Page 37]
"Mors, honey, don't,"
Filia begged.

Too late. He drew
his heavy crossbow,
but before he could
fire, he was lying on
the floor bleeding, my

[Page 38]
sword in his heart. I
left her there crying
over his body.

Today I live in a
house on a tiny island
in Yew bay,
surrounded by the one

[Page 39]
thing that never hurt
me - the sea. I gave my
sword and shield to
the monk. I see Filia
every now and then,
everytime, she is
dressed and looks
better. Last time, she

[Page 40]
was wearing her old
outfit. My life is
doomed to be lived out
in sorrow on this
island. For Filia
Fluminis, however,
there is still Hope.

Re: [BOOK] - West of Trinsic Vol.II

I went to your 'finish the story' link... am saddened that my namesake did not live up to the Standard proscribed by the SSSs. (Secret Society of Snowys) I will send a message to the Grand Snowy, and have the miscreant renamed to something more suitable.. like Tarpit.....
