I set to paper this
tragedy as told by
Rhysart, a friend and
by circumstances of
this tale, a hermit.

Long ago, near fifty
solstices past, there
was a young lad by the
name of Mordread. He
was the son of a
ranger couple who
tended the deer in the
forest near the

[Page 3]
dungeon Destard. One
fateful day, while
tending heard of deer,
a large dragon did fly
overhead and did
startle the herd to
stampede. They did
trample the parents of

[Page 4]
Mordread with their
sharp hooves, and life
left their bodies. Torn
by the grief of his
loss, that day,
Mordred did make a
vow to slay every
living deer, for taking


[Page 5]
the life of his beloved
parents. So great was
his grief, he did
cast away the
teachings of his
mother and father and
set upon the path of
the mage. There is no

telling of which black
arts he did practice in
his madness, but one
day a magical accident
did happen. His mortal
life was stripped
from him and he was
borne again as one of

[Page 7]
the foul abominations
of life called liche.
But this lich was
different, he did
remember his past
life and the teachings
of his past life. Being
so, he has the abilities

[Page 8]
of both a great mage
and the ability to tame
the wild beast. He
seems to have a link to
dragon kind, for he
can twist the minds
and hearts of those to
his will. It is

[Page 9]
suspected that he lairs
somewhere in the
dungeon of Destard,
where dragons are
plentiful. One day
while the family of
Rysart, Rangers as
well, were tending

[Page 10]
their guarded lands
near Trinsic and the
hidden valley,
Mordred did come
upon them, A fued did
ensue in which
Mordred was slain.
But as is the nature of

[Page 11]
powerful undead, he
did return to unlife.
One fateful and
horrific night, he did
summon a flight of
dragons, and they did
lay waste to all that
Rysart had known.

Of all his family,
Rysart is the only one
to survive, he escaped
with only his fathers
bow. He did hide in
the forest away from
all but his beloved
deer, Sue. He was in

[Page 13]
solitude for fifty
solstices. He has
recently come out of
the forest for he
cannot stand to see the
deer, and animals that
he loves so dearly be
slain by those who

[Page 14]
kill for sport, and not
out of need of hunger
or use of the hides or
furs. He has concern
that his life will come
to an end in a meeting
with the Dread lich
Mordred, for as his


[Page 15]
oath is to destroy the
deer, Rysarts is to
protect them. Be wary
noble reader, for
Mordred has also an
army of bone under
his sway as well as
the great dragons,

they may yet pose a
threat to not only
Rysart, but the whole
of our land.
