Within the lands of
Sosaria, there is one
ultimate source of all
power; Magic.
Magical energy
permeates everything
we know, as it moves
across the world, in

movements known as
"winds".

As these winds of
magic blow across the
world, they separate
into several different
strands, each strand

giving power to a
certain school of
magic, if you will. A
small amount of this
magic however
remains as a seething
mass of pure dark
magic.

This dark magic is
drawn inevitably to
places of evil and
death, murder and
disease, battlefields,
cemeteries and tombs,
charnel houses and

dark temples; all
attract this dark
force.

It is this magical
energy that is used in
the power of
Necromancy.

Necromancy is the
magic of the world of
death, a necromancer
is able to communicate
with the dead and
summon spirits.
Other powers include
the ability to summon

skeletons and zombies
to act as slaves. The
most powerful
Necromancers can
extend their life for
centuries beyond their
normal span.

To those who practice
the most dire and dark
of all forbidden
knowledge must face
the most dire and
darkest dangers,
Many attempt to
unnaturally extend

their lives, some
succeed and the
physical body is
maintained perfectly,
along with the mind.
Often though, the
result of such an
attempt is worse than

death itself, continual
use of Necromancy
drains their souls and
weakens their bodies,
with the passing of
time, the
Necromancer becomes
more and more like a

walking cadaver.

Few of those who
study the black art
begin their journey as
evil men. The loss of
a loved one, a dread
need for power or

even a natural fear of
death all lead men to
seek forbidden lore.
The magic though is so
tainted, so dark that
all it corrupts all it
touches, and the fear
of persecution, and

dealing with the dead
often drive even the
most noble scholars to
insanity and paranoia.

Many necromancers
attempt to outwit the
magic, and channel

their necromantic
energies through the
minds of others, often
the dead. Despite this,
mortal necromancers
are most often driven
insane and in the end
death shall claim them

in particularly
horrific ways. There
is no outwitting the
magic of death.

All necromancers are
abhorred throughout
the world. The men

of the world have
respect for their dead,
and ceaselessly hunt
down those who defile
their rest. Many an
aspiring necromancer
has perished in the
cleansing fire of
