[Page 2] Power inside a mage, called Mana is the user capacity to cast spells. Mana is based on the intelligence of the user, how learned the user is. Often casting high level [Page 3] spells can exhaust the user, and force the user to stop casting, and allow their mana to replenish. A way of replenishing mana is [Page 4] meditation. Meditation relaxes the users mind and body, and allows them to replenish their power much faster than they normally would. Some who are highly [Page 5] skilled in the art of meditation can replenish their mana at fast rates while not actively meditating. This is called passive meditation. It is allowing the mana of [Page 6] the world around you to run through your body, and replenish your own power. Improving Your Intelligence [Page 7] Intelligence is a very difficult thing to gain. Intelligence comes with experience and hard work, and can often-time's slip away as a person become older and [Page 8] adlewitted. To build ones intelligence one should practice any of the traditional lores. Some of the best are communicating with the dead, or evaluating another's intelligence [Page 9] to improve your own. Ones mana is based on how intelligent a person is. Evaluating Intelligence, A Very Valuable Skill [Page 10] Perhaps one of the most important skills that a mage can practice is that of evaluating another intelligence. This skill is important in battle, [Page 11] and is also important when casting spells. When you can evaluate another mage's intelligence you can learn how powerful they are. The more skilled can also [Page 12] determine what level the other mage's mana is at. Evaluating Intelligence can also improve the effectiveness of your spells, making your battle spells wreak [Page 13] more damage. The Levels of Magic Magic spells are divided into different levels or circles. The higher the circle, the [Page 14] more difficult the spell will be. The cost of the spell will also be much greater, drawing much more on the user's mana if the spell is in a higher circle. Magi's should [Page 15] base the circle of the spell they cast on their own skill. Magic is hard skill to learn though, and takes many years of dedication, and hard work to master. |
