I'm curious, not what arty or what not, but best weapon in general that crafters would make.

Silver-Etched Mace, made with gold or better runic hammer. These are always Undead slayers. At least one smith on Stratics has said that the SEM is a better weapon than the Berserker's Maul.

My own macer always carries the humble Cavorting Club as an ordinary weapon. It hits hard with 35% DI, has good SSI, and never needs repair thanks to Self Repair 3. In addition, it has 8 in all resists, a bonus when you're trying to assemble a suit. It's the best training weapon in the game for macers. As a bonus, it's usually dirt cheap on vendors. I've found it for sale for as little as 100gp, although 5k is the usual price.

diamond maces usually come out pretty decent. Swing decently fast and have good damage. I prefer to use a war hammer myself, or a maul.

for pvp, a regular mace, cause of concussion blow and disarm.

diamond mace is good too with the concussion and crushing blows, but they basically do the same thing tho.

Diamond maces are effectively mauls.

If one is fighting something that can be disarmed (which includes rat archers... have you SEEN some of the arrow prices lately?), a mace is very handy. If not, well, it's been said that ImaNewb was before his time, as a war axe with good speed and a slayer or high damage can reign supreme. If not a war axe, a hammerpick can suffice.

War maces are good for just making a statement with a ridiculous amount of damage with one blow.

War hammers are good if your armsman or armswoman has some Bushido skill, or in the case of an invasion, he or she is surrounded by critters. Just beware that Hit Slayer doesn't work right now with Concussion or Whirlwind.

Hammer Picks can have some sick modifications on them. I have a nice one.

I remember GMing Macing 8 years ago using healing wands with a guildmate.lol. now i use cavorting club as normal wep and carry a hammer pick w/ 30 ssi and hi damage mods.

Pretty much any kind of weapon is good for pvm. Doesn't matter.

For pvp, I've always liked the war axe best. It is high damage with bleed and armor ignore as special moves. AI, bleed, AI... dead.

Hammer pick owns with necromacer, does sick damage with AI combined with evil omen.
With my pallymacer i used to have war axe with me, bleed and AI in the same weapon... Sweet

It's not that. Before special moves the war axe was definitely, hands down the best mace weapon in the game. It's nowhere near now as good as it was back then.
