What's after ogre lords

I have slowly worked my way up to ogre lords which I can kill without too much trouble, but what would any of you suggest I try next, I normally only use swords but do have high magery and I don't like spell casters too much,
Thanks for any help in advance.

You could head into Doom and see if the Devourer of Souls is tougher. Or, head over to Tokuno and take on the hiryus, lessers or greaters. They have good loot too

The most fun is to be had simply by grabbing a friend or two and going adventuring.
Seriously grab a dungeon runebook or perhaps go to Ilsh and just find places you've never gone. See what you can kill and what makes you run like a baby.
It's really the best part of UO.

Tokuno also has fan dancers and that place is always a challange. Mighr want to give that spot a try

Re: What's after ogre lords

hehe. My normal play style is what you suggest Flutter and I do just that (running like a baby)most of the time, but I was just wondering what monster people think is the next monster up from ogre lords. I was under the impression that fan dancers are very tough.

With fan dancers it's more about armor and less about skill.... but that's with just about all PvM nowadays...

Arctic Orge Lords?
Perhaps Ice Fiends or Daemons.
Titans and Cyclops? Should slowly ween your way onto Magic casters.

Well, if you are looking by way of what pays what gold and fame, next is Artic Ogre Lords. You can find one all by himself spawning just inside the entrance to Ice (old lands entrance).

They pay about 900 gold each, and really keep your fame and karma up there when you need that lord or lady title back. They do cold damage, so go prepared. Also watch for the little ice spiders and ratmen, they will come around to hassle you too, but they are easy to kill. More of a distraction than anything, kinda like senior mall walkers.

I think as far as building skill for a warrior, along with gold, fame, and karma, it goes something like this.

Ogre Lords
Artic Ogre Lords
Dragons in Destard
Sphinx
Onis in Sho Toh or whatever that place is called in Tokono
Balrons
Ancient Wyrms

There might be some others, but that is the stuff I fought and kinda figured out what paid and gave me what. Bloods fit in there somewhere...but this is just the stuff that I found where there are solo creatures spawning and you can just concentrate on them without worrying about click shoppers and hanger-on creatures.

You forgot the last one Salem.....Swoop.
Everyone ends up at Swoop.....lol j/k
But Dark Fathers would be the "end all be all" for Solo monster hunting.

Hmm, yes, you are right. I was thinking just the stuff outside champ spawns and Doom. I will admit I haven't tried Doom by myself. I usually go as a team. Seems warriors can do well there by themselves with the right equipment. Lastly, and I know I am gonna really get it for this confession, but I'm not one of those people who pretend to know everything, but....what is Swoops anyway. I have heard the term alot, and probably fought them, but for the life of me I don't know what they are.

Re: What's after ogre lords

Well warriors used to do awesome solo in the gauntlet, but now with the blood oath that the DF has, you have to be careful about the EoO, Conc Weap, AIs or Conc blows on him, cause you can get it dealt right back to you and end up dead in 1 hit.

Probably next up from an ogre lord in terms of solo playing would be Demons, they give the same amount of fame (15000) and cast some magic at you, so it will be a bit more of a challenge than a non magic casting monster like an Ogre Lord. The nice part of the Arctic OLs area is, you take a soul seeker, and while fighting the AOLs just whirlwind anything that comes bugging you while fighting.

If when I am in a gold collecting mood, I go to the trogdolytes with a soulseeker, and chop away at em. They are really easy, but they give 500 gold apiece, and spawn really quick. You can get upwards of 100k + an hour.
