Utterly Stupid Lag?
Hey guys,
So I've just resubscribed to Ultima, about 3 years after playing last. I cancelled after Blackthorn's, but couldn't resist KR (which, actually, turned out to be barely different ¬_¬). But yeah, I rescued my chracters, and all was going well. Until I installed UO (the 9th Anniversary Collection, and KR) on my new PC the other day (Vista, 3.2Ghz Pentium D processor, 1gb RAM), and it just runs utterly, incredibly, stupidly slowly. For instance, I try to follow someone, and I go so slowly, they end up disappearing. Just did a speedtest, results are below:  So, as you can see, whilst not fantastic, it's not terrible. I've tried getting hold of UO-Trace, but EA's (utterly terrible) customer support says that I 'do not have permission'. Please help guys, this is getting really annoying! FYI, I play on Europa. Best thing to do, is run a trace route using UOTrace, which can be found here.......ftp://ftp.ea.com/pub/origin/patches/uo/uotrace.exe
When it asks to download the server list, say no, because it'll just error otherwise Once open, click the Options menu, then "Advanced" Back on the main page, type in europa.owo.com Click the Trace route button Once it's finished running the trace, click "Poll" and let it run for 5 minutes Stop the poll, then copy/paste the results here, or take a screenshot of it. Note: To copy/paste, click "Edit" then "copy" Come here and create a new reply to this thread, type.... Hmmm...I posted, but it didn't recognise.
I have no problem with games on like...addictinggames.com, obviously. I play Black and White 2 on here, and there's no problem. If it's jumpy, mb it's my GFX card? How could I check? I'm installing my trial of WoW on here to see. |

KR does the same thing to me, what Ive found is I can play any game on the market and have with little to no lag including KR for the first min or two, then KR chews up my memory and within minutes its using 100% of system resources and lags incredibly bad to the point of lock-up!
