My 8th age is coming in 2 days, and I am attempting to uninstall what I have. I started with uo3rd dawn, but wanted the old graphics and tried installing reniassance.

This created ultima X2, one version of 3rd dawn, one of ren. I tried deleting 3rd, but it said the reniassance was using a file (my character file). I then tried Deleting the 3rd dawn directory manually, that worked, and I was able to get it off the remove programs list.

Now I am down to reniassance. Attempting to delete this says "Out of memory" When i click "proceed" for the installation, this freezes the uninstall and I have to ctrl+alt+delete it out. I can delete the directory, but cannot delete it from the add/removes programs list. I like to keep things clean.. so this bothers me. How do i fix this issue? My computer has more than enough memory for another 30 or so ultima installs.. so something is up. An annoying bug that I want fixed!

If the directory no longer exist but it still is resident in the add/remove list you need to go into the registry editor and remove it in there.

The uo uninstall info (along with other programs) will display something like this {01980F57-F1DF-4D77 etc... Not those exact numbers, but they are the type of ones you need to look through until you find the one with the UO display name. When you find the one with:

DisplayName = Ulitma Online Reniassance (or something like that), just delete the whole string by right clicking on it in the left hand panel. ( the {01980F57-F1DF-4D77 etc bit).

Id like to know a fix too. I had one proggy that was no longer on my system and I couldnt get it off my Add/Remove list either.

Didnt really bother me though.

If I were you, Id wait till you new box comes, install, and see what happens...

From here I deleted the entire folder "Origin World Systems"(Not 100% sure if that was the exact name), inside this folder it had 2 folders, "Ultima online 3rd Dawn" And "Ultima online".


Deleting these did nothing, hopefully I didn't screw anything up ;)
