Hello Isn't the Butcher's War cleaver suppose to cut hides into cut leather and palce them into your pack?

if not I had thought it did this in the past and had done it a little bit when i skinned the Timber wolf but when I did it to cows and bears it stays on the corpes

I haven't used one recently, but the Butcher's War Cleaver will leave hides on the corpse if your backpack is at its weight capacity or near it. Usually a message will show that the hides remained on the corpse if the weight limit has been reached.

Exactly. I use mine to gather leather, and it stops placing the cut leather in your backpack before the pack is actually full, but mostly full. I keep a bag of sending so I can send it off when it gets that full. You have to watch those messages so you catch it when it stops putting them in the pack for you.

Thanks fo the help. But I wasn't close to my weight. My full weight is 450 and about 250 or a little above that I get the message saying it won't put it into my pack. Never got message saying reached Capactiy Just it saying You cut leather and is on corpes

for some reason it stops at a certain amount.
my hubby had given me one to play with and i was happily cutting up hides, but it will only cut and place in your pack up to a certain weight/amount..(don't remember what it was) but it isn't even close to the weight limit.

I think it is running off the old weight capacity which is 395 or something.
I think 300 is the "cap". But it does cut the hides into leather right?
