I'd like to get people's opinions on which skills are worth getting power scrolls for and how high it is worth going.

For instance: I have an Elder Mage. Is it worth getting a 120 scroll? They cost a small fortune (well, actually, they cost a BIG fortune and are almost impossible to find).

Any thoughts on magery or any other skills?

well, me personally... i have magery, eval scrolled to 115... simply because i couldnt afford 120s... i dont think its that big a deal to get them to 120 unless you are pvping... as far as the skills i think are neccessary to 120....

i have taming, lore, vet on one char at 120(merely for stable spots)
stealing at 120 on another

and pretty much a necessity to get whatever melee skills your using as well as tactics, anatomy at 120

I tend to scroll out all my chars to some degree, and I'll usually go 120's on their most important skills depending on template. My mages are always 120's in their most important skills. Thus, the mages are 120's in magery/eval/med/resist/spellweaving/necro/ss. However, my mage tamer is only 115 magery since rarely does she need to cast 8th level spells without failing. My dexxers tend to run 120 weapon and parry skills, but less of other things. With that said I have an archer that is 120's in Archery, Tactics, Resist, Anatomy, and Healing. Just really depends on the character/template.

I think krashnss makes a good point....for PvM, you probably don't "need" 120's in anything, but then again, it is very nice to not fail spells, or to be able to hit for max damage each time. You're going to need to figure out if any of your chars suffer for not being scrolled out....if you see flaws/issues with the template, scroll up, otherwise let them be.
