Here's a quick question that may have been addressed before , but why doesn't UO take a lesson from EQ and put in a shared bank? Yes I know we have houses that act this way and better due to increased storage available but I would love to be able to bank something with one char and retrieve it with another. Anyone else feel this would be a worthy addition to UO?

It would be nice this way you share all your money with all your char no matter who is log on. Cuz all I keep at the bank is money and maybe some regs.

That would most likely be the draw back unless they increase the bank box capacity.

The number of items is already limited, however what EQ did was add 2 slots to each char bank which were tied to acct making those 2 slots shared. basically UO could add a shared box or pack to each char and put some limit on it say 20 items for example then items which you wanted to distribute to any char could be put in that box. It's just a thought but I was mainly referring to gold which is a pain when you have to transfer thousands to another char. The whole process of getting a check dropping it in your house then taking new char to bank to deposit check. It's a thought and I have no idea if the logistics of it are even possible but I like the idea.

Oh and of course it would have to be shard specific I would think.

Shared bankbox for each shard, with an item limit of 750. It would work well.

Item limit of 750 we'd never find anything....

I think if I understand UO correctly. A downside to this idea is: technically you carry your bank box with you. That could create a lot of lag. Lag is no ones friend.

The bank box would only be available at the bank with 2 slots in the bank box (not on the char) to share with any char on that shard

Ohhhh maybe that's why I should keep my bank box tidy.... *giggles loudly*

Read somewhere that everything in your bank box is "on" your character. I think that means the server keeps that info just like it does your backpack. It just isn't accessible to the player until they get to the "bank". That is why some peeps lag a lot more then others crossing server lines, gating and such. The one server passes the info off to the next one.
