scales good for anything?

Are scales good for anything? I have a bazillion sea serpent scales and no idea what to do with them. All my characters wear leather. Is enhancing with them worthwhile?

Re: scales good for anything?

You can make dragonscale armor with them. Unfortunately, for as hard as it is to make, it isn't worth wearing. But it looks cool. (at least it did in 3D)

Bummer. Not a good enough reason for me to bother. Well, at least it stacks so it does not take up much space. I'll save it for who knows what in the future.

It's amazing how many things in the game are pretty useless. Can't quite understand why these guys program that way but I guess they've just got too much to do or something.

Re: scales good for anything?

On another note you can turn them in to the library collections in Brit museum. The animal trainer upstairs will take them. For 40K scales, you can get the anthropomorphist glasses.

Re: scales good for anything?

I have an old stack of them that does not have a count, just a weight. Do you think those will work?

Re: scales good for anything?

Sure. What do they weigh? We can calculate the amount by the current weight (10 per 1 stone of weight).

Although, I would highly recommend removing a few (at least two per pile), and retaining as a "rare, old item". Some collectors are interested in things like this.

P.S. Palexandria, would you be able to confirm if sea serpents in felluca yield double scales now too? I am sans fisher.

While driving 103 miles (each way) to my interview today, I got to thinking on this.
This line of thinking is primarily for my Vampurai, who can kill much faster and safer than my tamer (plus get away from reds).

This is for felluca white wyrm farming. The base source scales remain the same, but gathering is faster. I NEVER recommend anyone farming scales in Felluca destard, due to the champ spawn. This draws reds in flocks. Ice dungeon is relatively safer, but on some shards it is "policed" by red guilds.

Trammel / Ilshenar scale resources
Dragons: 7
WW: 8

Felluca scale resouces
dragons: 14
WW : 16

Time to kill one WW: 20 Seconds (timed over 60 kills)
WW killed in one minute : 3
SCales harvested/minute: 48
Scales per hour: 2880
Time to reach 80k: 27.788888888888 hours.

Figure roughly 34 hours, given time running from reds, resupply, the inevitable death, etc. Not bad really.

hate to say it ...i know how Thom likes these long statistical math problems...but all you have to do is pick the old scales up and it will tell you how many there are...just doesn't tell you while they are lying in a box...soon as you try picking them up the number will appear
