Salvage Bag

As I was walking around on Drachenfels on a somewhat new and broke charactor, I looked at what I could buy from the provisioner at Umbra and saw a type of bag after the Bagball. It looks like the same graphic and even colour as the blue bag of sending but is called a Salvage Bag and costs 1255 gold. I then went to the provisioner in Luna and saw it there again. After a little work, I made a few thousand gold to justify buying one to see what I could do with it. Storage of the bag looks the same as the normal 15 gold bag counterpart until I clicked on it. It gave me three options.

Salvage All
Salvage Ingots
Salvage Cloth

Is this a new option that works maybe better then the UOAssist recycle agent? Any information or links to this item would be most apresiated. I have asked a few friends who have not taken a break from UO and they have never heard of the item.

Thank you for taking time to read this thread even if you have no clue what this item is... hehe.

Re: Salvage Bag

Found this on the server patch notes

Updated November 26 at 2:30PM.
Collapse...
The following goes live on all servers during maintenance the morning of Nov. 27:

* Added the Salvage Bag:
o The Salvage Bag is the core of the enhanced recycling system. Players store items in the bag like any other container, but when a recycle command occurs, they target the bag to handle all the items at once.
o Layout:
+ a blue leather bag labeled "A Salvage Bag"
+ Available on Provisioners for a nominal (~1000gp) fee
o Details:
+ Use the context menu on the bag to select "Salvage Ingots", "Salvage Cloth", or "Salvage All"
+ All items of the appropriate type in the bag (metal for smelting, cloth for scissoring) are recycled into their resources
+ The player gets a message containing number of items successfully recycled

Re: Salvage Bag

Unfortunately, you still can't recycle:

Bows
Furniture
(wooden) shields
Bone Armor

That last one really irks me when I'm filling BODs. Boo.

Re: Salvage Bag

Speaking of cloth laying around...what's up with the 2K of reward cloth I find every other day in Sonoma Luna? Is this scripter refuse or just someone being nice?

Could be someone like me. I throw out reward cloths, they just take up space in the house. When I get in the mood, I could do BODs for hours just filling out the low end ones to get new bods and then just leave the cloths on the ground.

So get a dye tub, dye them all the same color, and use them to fill your BODs...saves time and money, since you don't have to buy more cloth or weave your own
