Re: Questions about training?

It is a matter of casting the right spell or combination of spells...and sometimes you will hit a wall for a bit....it happens...don't know why....try working a different skill till you gain a few points then switch back to chiv...that seems to work for me

Re: Questions about training?

Zero,
First, you can buy Chivalry up to 40 at New Haven for 10 gold per .1 of skill (400 gp from 0 to 40, 100 gp from 30 to 40). If you already took the newbie quest (which will let you get to 50 really fast), you will have to renounce it. Then click (shift click in KR) on the trainer (he is upstairs), and select Train Chivalry. Once he responds, pick up gold (the requested amount) and drop on him. He will then award you the new skill.

Second, use this guide from stratiics to determine which chivalry spell to cast at which level. clickie click.

Third, it will be most helpful to raise focus and meditation while training chivalry and bushido, then lower them once those are complete. You are in little danger in new haven, since only mongbats will target you.

Fourth, if you do use meditation skill, you will have to have medable armor. This is all clothing, or leather armor. Metal armor is not medable. You will have a much slower mana regeneration rate.

Re: Questions about training?

To add to Baldguy's comments, there ARE some metal armor items that are medable. When you see these particular metal pieces, they will ALWAYS say "Mage Armor" near the bottom of the description of the piece (the info you get when you point at the item with your cursor). You can find both metal armor and studded leather armor (normally not medable) so marked, and if you do find them, you will meditate in them at the same rate as leather armor or cloth.

Last time I tried training in New Haven (which was a couple of months back, so it may have changed) you could not buy training in any skill if you had any quest from a trainer running, I'll see if I can try it again tomorow in case it's changed...

Edit - Nope, it's still that way by the looks of it - I accepted the inscription quest, went to the fencing trainer to buy combat skills, and got told no, you can't buy any skills you are on a quest.

Also, incidentally, they were clever about one thing - if you are on a trainee quest, you can't use a soulstone.

Re: Questions about training?

its true, you need to buy all of your skills at the beginning, then take all quests... but once youve started the quest, man its fast to raise from 0-50, gaining from 3-5 or more( i started from 40 all the time so i dunno if more!)
