Questions About Dye Tubs

Hi again, everybody.

Everyone here has been very helpful with answering my questions, and I'm hoping you can answer this one which I can't find an answer to.

I've seen lots of characters with talismans (especially the Primer on Arms Damage) and Quivers of Infinity dyed to match the color of their clothing. How did they do that? I tried dying mine (talisman and quiver) with a regular dye tub, a special dye tub, and a leather dye tub (I knew that one wouldn't work, but I decided to give it a try anyway), but none of them worked on either item.

Is there a special dye tub for dying these things, or do I need a player character, such as a smith or tailor, to do this?

Any help is appeciated.

The only thing I know of that can do this is the Pigments of Tokuno... heres a link to Stratics that explains how to get them if you dont feel like buying them off a players vendor.

Right pigments of Tokuno are used to dye reward items, and the things you mentioned fall into that category.

look for them in your next stocking since EA is on this crusade to devalue anything that becomes rare or hard to get

As to the devaluation of items and artifacts.. I have been gone from UO for like five or six months and came back to find the Orni that I love and hold so dear has dropped to about half price. As for the pigments, they arn't soo bad if you are looking for a charge or two. I will see if I have anything on Chessy, but I do not think I do.

Half price? Heck, my first orny I paid 42 million gold for. Last weekend I had a guy accept 5 from me for one...however, when I went to change chars to the one with the gold, someone gave him the six he was asking so he sold it. Oh well, I've gotten two out of Doom in the last couple weeks, so no worries. I actually don't think it's a bad thing at all...it gives anyone that is willing to persevere a little a chance for top shelf artifacts.
