Question about Parrying

My warrior/paladin has been working on increasing swords and parrying, and have both of them around 90 now. I recently started using a two-handed weapon, though. My question is, do I still use parrying with a two-handed weapon? Or should I trade that skill out for something different?

Re: Question about Parrying

Do you have bushido?

If you don't, parry still works but only half as well. If you do have bushido, you want to use a two handed weapon with parry

No bushido, my skills are as follows:

Anatomy
Healing
Swords
Chivalry
Spell Resist
Parrying
Tactics

So would you recommend keeping parrying then? And if so, should I still try to raise it to 100?

Re: Question about Parrying

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you are mainly into PvM. If so, there is nothing wrong with keeping parry. With the template you have I would raise everything to GM and try to get swords as high as you can afford a scroll for (if your not a four year vet, you can't have six at GM with one at 120 until then). Even with a two handed sword you will block some attacks. Less damage seems to be a good idea to me

I agree with vepl on this but unless you 2 -handed sword is mind blowing i would go with a one handed fast weapon and shield with hci and some dci if your lucky some resists also

Maybe go something like this

100 anat
90 healing
120 swords
70 chiv
100 resist
120 parry
100 tactics

I am assuming you only have 225 stat cap? If so try...
100 str
100 dex
25 int

But what you really want to shot for in the end is...
110 str
140 dex
40 mana (not int)

If you are wearing all mebable gear maybe go human for the +3 mr but if your not wearing all medable gear go elf for the +20 mana.

Why only a 70 in chivalry?

Also, what's the point in having that high of dexterity? The only time I ever see it go down to zero is when I'm carrying too much weight in my pack. I would think it would make more sense to have high mana, rather than dex, so that I can cast more chivalry spells.

Re: Question about Parrying

Think about healing if your fighing tuff monsters 4 secs is nice to have. Plus just get a mana leech weapons for more mana with lmc and mr on your suit.

Pluse why do you need more chiv points? so you dont fail EoO? at 70 chiv you wont fail to often put the points somewhere else.

Re: Question about Parrying

140 dex

FYI the skill temp I gave above was only 700 points if your account is old enough you have 20 more points to play with.

Re: Question about Parrying

Also the way Chiv is coded, you don't get any extra bonus for anything other than success chance at casting anything. Everything (strength, length) is based off of Karma.
