I don't know if this is the right forums to post this in but we are trying to get UO Kingdom Reborn working on a friends computer. Everytime he tries to patch it says Error cannot apply patch. We've gone through every step on ea games support site yet still have this problem. Have gone through three complete reinstalls of UOKR as well. Does anyone have any clue as why this is happening? We currently have UOKR installed on two other computers and it patches and plays fine. It's a new Dell XPS that is only a month old as well, fully virus free and connected directly to his cable modem with firewall turned off.

Your are not going to get much help from the EA site.

Sometimes the file is just corrupt and you have to redownload and patch eveything again.

Some people will tell you to get a download manager besides the one that comes with windows. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not.

This has only happend to me in KR. Never had this problem with the 2D client in the 10 years that I have been playing.

To me KR is still to buggy to use. 2D is not pretty, but it runs damn well on just about any computer. Been having fun for years in 2D, graphics just are not that important to me. It is the gameplay and what you can do in the game that has kept me around.

Warsong is right,its a very hit and miss affair.

All you can do is keep trying and hopefully it will work.

Thank you both for the input. We are going to try downloading again. If this doesn't work where exactly can I find the 2d client for download? Is there a specific one that I should use? I have discs to the original UO, back when it first came out and have an AOS disc somewhere, I think I still have it.

The first link has 3 files, the first two files are KR, the 3rd file is 2D... it is only a 673m file.

I had to download KR twice before I got a working one. It seems that the first time, my download got interrupted and even though it appeared to resume, the interruption corrupted the file. Hope it works for you!
