How do you bond a pet? Do they have to be kept in the stable or would they bond even if you ride them everyday? If yes, how long? Can I put them on summoning balls even if they're not bonded?

hmm, no tamer, but going of data I think is correct.

Bonding just means keeping them happy for a week.

They should bond in stables or while you ride them.

Usually 1 week. If not in stable, remember to feed it and command it.

You cannot use Pet Summoning balls until after they are bonded.

Stable Method:
- Feed and command to follow you, then stable. Wait one week. After one week, remove from stable, feed and command. Should be bonded.

Ride Method:
- Ride as ya do, don't let it die. Or you can be logged off on it, for a week, same as stabling I believe.
- When riding, I'm old school, new pets I used to feed (or try to feed) every 30 minutes and give 5 follow me commands.
After 1 week should bond.

Once bonded, you can click the Pet Summoning ball, and target the pet you want it to call/bond with. You can't be mounted of course. Charge ball with powder of translocation of course.

Pet Summoning balls, do not work in all locations all the time. There are varying degrees of where it will work and why. Perhaps a tamer will step in and correct me.

I have found that if i leave a pet in the stables it takes a little longer that a week, i think. I pull the pet out of the stable and feed it every day and it seems to bond after a week but if you let it set in there it takes longer. I Think. Thinking Hurts.

Its best to feed the pet and stable it and leave it there for one week to allow it to bond. If you are out with your tamed and not-yet-bonded pet and it dies, you cannot resurrect it. Once your week is up, unstable it, feed it. It should bond. If it doesn't then its not done cooking. Restable it and try again in a few hours; your timing was off. Feeding it everyday during the week in the stable is unnecessary.

Pet Summoning Balls: Do not work while you are in Ilsh, however, if your pet is left there and you are back in Malas, Tram or Fel or the new SE Islands, you can summon your pet from Ilsh. If you want to go play somewhere in Ilsh but don't want to drag that pet around to that area (since you can't recall directly there), unstable your pet and park it somwhere, like the gate (the gate is best since you will walk into the gate and not recall), but NOT on Ilsh. Leave it on Tram, Fel, Malas, where ever. Once you arrive at your Ilsh destination, summon your pet.

Ok, thanks for the tips. What if I missed by a day or two? I can't remember when I stabled my swampy. Will it reset the timer, and I'll have to start over?

There was a bug that reset the timer when it was fed at the wrong time but I believe that has been fixed

Yup I am, but I might have missed by a day or two. Oh, I lost my hiryu last night, sux

I just got a new rune bettle thingie (Gertrude), and on day 7, yanked her bum out of the stable, feed her and she bonded. I fed her before I stabled her on day one.

I am now offically clueless, Ally and I have been a tamer/vet/ranger for over (counting on her fingers) 3 years or 4 yeays now. You win Stump the Tamer! eheheh

I had a dragon take 12 days to bond. I wouldn't worry about it. Just try every day till it bonds.

your taming has got to be high enough to tame the pet w or w/o Jewelry. It should bond in 7 full days after you fed it the first time, once you you feed it again. It don't mater if you stable it full time or part time, the reason people tell ya to stable it is so you dont take it out to be killed trying it out.
