Mage armor mean just that? its only needed if you use meditation rather then focus? or is there a benefit to wearing it with focus also?

I been looking all over for that info or I just been misunderstanding what I do find.

Mage armor only affects meditation and not focus, because you can actively meditate and (as far as I know) you cannot actively use the focus skill.

Mage armor affects paladins the same as mages really, it just depends on how much you use active meditation. If your paladin's mana doesn't often get too low then mage armor isn't that important.

I don't bother with mage armor for my paladin because they just don't use the paladin spells enough to run their mana down, but if you run out of mana often then mage armor could really help.

Basically, mage armor only affects you when you actively meditate (because you can't meditate with normal armor). It least, that's how I've always understood it.

When wearing non mage armor you won't beable to actively meditate and your meditation skill will have no effect on your passive regeneration. If some of your armor can't be meditated in, then go for all focus and no meditation.

You can't passively meditate through non-mage armor?

Hmm, that means none of characters have ever actually got the benefit out of the medition they had. lol, I've been wasting quite a few skill points.

Now I see why everyone like focus so much!

my two cents..you can meditate in non-mage armor, but it cannot be studded leather or any kind of metal..must be only leather-based. (or new elven with leaf or something like that but my knowledge of elven armor is *muy pequeno*). It does not have to specifically say 'mage armor' on it in order to meditate, but if it says 'mage armor' you most definitely can.

many of my chars have neither focus or med. , 6 mana regen has much the same mana regen as gm+ med/focus . one benefit of focus though is also stam regen . also fyi lrc also works on chiv cost, great for free training..
