Theoretically, where would they find the games to be able to do so? Is there a bundle pack or do you have to buy them single? And where would be a good spot to look before somebody goes to look on ebay? Theoretically of course. __________________ |

Regardless of how you get them, though, the very early ones, the pre-Windows ones, are going to be a royal pain in the ass. This is because processor speeds back then were.....Oh my, let me put it this way....I'm not sure computers back then even HAD processors per se. Either way, the computing speed back then was really slow. The effect of this is that, in Ultima 2, you will starve to death in about 10 seconds of game play....Because the game's time clock is based on the computer's speed. The collection comes with a program called MoSlo or SloMo or something...I forget honestly. This is a Dos application that either adjusts the game speed, or adjusts your computer speed, to compensate for the differential. (I forget which.) Read the directions for that program CAREFULLY, and follow them CAREFULLY, and the games can be playable. Once the games enter the more modern era, like around Ultima 6 or 7 or so, the games become playable without this program. There's also this nifty interview with Garriott on that disc as I recall. -Galen's player |

The older games can be bought also. I recently picked up Ultima 3-8 for ~$400 USD. Expensive games these days due to rarity. I dare say there'd be places to find them in Abandonware groups, but that's all I'll say on that. __________________ |
