Hello All,

I just picked up UO 8th. I have known of UO for years and have thought about giving it a try now and then. I stumbled onto the UO site and saw the special offer for the game. I have played most of the older Ultimas, V being my favorite. So far, I have made a few guys on some of the different shards and wandered around alittle. Still have not picked the shard I will play on for real. I am thinking I will use my adv token to make a ninja.

A quick question, do you all run in 2D or 3D? 3D is newer, however something look nicer in 2D. Are there features in the game that only 3D can access?

I play 2D almost exclusively.
Lots of folks here at UOF play 3d though.
Its basically just a matter of preference.

I play 2d, have not been able to get used to the 3d look.

2D for me too. There is something about 3D that makes me wanna bash my head into my monitor!!!

i play 3d most of the time except when i am in a group check ur other thread same subject for more answers HI, brand new!!!

I always play 2D too, although there is one good thing I noticed about 3D- the way emotes work on it. Admittedly that is great, but not exactly essential.

As far as I know most people play 2D but it doesn't really make a difference, as Flutter said it just depends on what you prefer. There isn't any big advantage to either way, although there are some minor things like being able to zoom in/out on 3D.

word of advice on the adv char token. Dont waste it to make a warrior type character. They are simple to build up. If I were you, and wanted to maybe go make some gold and stuff, make a tamer. That is by far the most difficult profession to build up. Well maybe not difficult, but extremely time consuming.

I play 2d pretty much all the time now, since ML. the patches are soooooooooooooo laggy and something isnt right out there. If you were going to use 3d, make sure you have atleast like a 128mg video card. Ive noticed that is pretty much the minimum to play with less lag.

256mg card 3gig ram np runnin 3d

i run in 2d, till 3d gets updated and fixed more i'll stay in 3d myself

only time i really lag is if i goto brit or luna on atlantic or if im in middle of archer war 15-20 archers all doin lightning attack lol but i think it was this tread i said i ussually switch to 2d when in a large group.
