Necromancer and Armour

Is there a limit to Mages, Nercomancer and spell weavers with armour types? are there classification of armour? and if a spell caster can wear heavy armour, then what is the downside to it? (I am sure they addressed balancing issues)

Re: Necromancer and Armour

If your counting on mana regeneration, the only metal (heavy armor) you should wear should say "mage armor" on it. Otherwise, it is not meddable, and you will regenerate mana VERY slowly while wearing it. There is no advantage to metal armor over leather armor in the game from a protection/resists standpoint.

Re: Necromancer and Armour

jfk is correct, you need to be able to meditate so only armour /weapons marked as ' Mage ', Spell Channeling or meddable are any use.

Leather can be any type except Barbed,as you cannot meditate in that either.

Re: Necromancer and Armour

There is a list of the mdabble armor types in the Item FAQ Cyber. There is medable armor (clothing and leather and leaf) .These allow the caster to regenerate mana at normal speeds through the meditation skill.

There is all the rest of the armor (studded, hide, woodland, chain, ringmail, plate). These have a meditation penatly, and the mage loses teh ability to gain the benefit of the meditation skill. There is a magic property (mage armor) that allows that armor to be worn by casters with no penalty.
