There are two cotton fields available for you that produce cotton. One is in Moonglow, to the SE of the moongate, past the graveyard. The other is on the mainland of Skara Brae, south of the road in the farms area. Each field will have five plants spawned when you first approach, pick the cotton by doubleclicking each white boll. It's good to mark runes to each field and empty both of them out. Cotton spawns quickly, you can have quite a bit in a half hour.

Once you have cotton bales, take it to a spinning wheel and doubleclick the cotton, then target the wheel. The wheel will turn, and you will end up with spools of thread. Continue until all the cotton is spun.

Now take the thread to the Loom and doubleclick the spools, then target the loom. It takes five spools to make a bolt of cloth.

A macro that will help you spin and loom more quickly is last object/last target. In fact, this is one of the most useful macros you can have because it allows you to do tailoring, mining, bandaging and many other boring tasks.

While you are in a tailor shop, purchase a dye tub, but do not add any dye to it. When you start getting reward cloth from turning in BODs, you can use this tub to bleach the reward cloth and all of your other cloth so it will all stack together and make tailoring go more quickly (if there is more than one color of cloth in your pack, you have to target the one you want.) You can even recycle clothing from brigands, if you like. (death robes don't recycle, however.)

I always choose cotton over wool from old childhood memories of scratchy wool sweaters. :grin:

Well since i started almost 2 weeks ago after i have been away over 8 years i must say that it is alot to learn again.
About tailoring it was good to know, but i made this char just so i can start to use all items that tailor can use.
I also made some other chars. that i think can be usefull since i think i will play alone most of the time, untill i start to know people around the word.
But my main is or will be in the end a Mag/Tamer.
I better start raising up my tamer skill so i can get a good companion to help me in my exploring.

Sadly when I first started this game, I got so much satisfaction out of doing the tedious things…. Bolts for example money/gold was alot harder to get(or atleast it seemed to be that way). if you ask me, things are too easy now a days welp that’s my rant for the day

I do agree with Neevah, that things are much easier. Gold is plentiful, and ppl never seem to run out of stamina as I chase them all over Feluccia. Artifacts are all over the place. We need a few uo natural disasters to make a few items scarce again.
