hehe... I know its nothing new, but in the SW Solem Ant Hive there is a grassy area that spawns Fungi...

and In this area there is a river and a water pufication station and a Book that says "How to make it work"...

Does anyone know where to get "Obsidien" ??? stratics says its pretty rare...

Or if this water purifier works at all???

and what Use does purified water have??? I'm a gardener, does it help Plants like Fertile dirt does???

I'm just curiose.... I think it's an un-finnished piece of the Ant Tunnels... What do you think???

Don't quote me because I haven't played in a while but I believe you get Obsideon from doing some of the Ant Quests, when you have so many pieces you can put together a black statue/bust.

I didn't know you can use fertile dirt for plants..... Man i'm out of the loop!

You get obsidian from doing the collector quest. Go to Elrond the collector in Haven and he will give you a quest chain. Some rune librarys may actually have a list of all the places you need to go. It takes about 16 peices to get one statue.

As far as the waterfall, I don't think it works, but I'm not sure.

I believe that was all part of the story line when Yew became swamp land. Depending on how many helped decided if Yew stayed swamp or not. Don't think it does anything now.

OK, "Elrond the collector in Haven " has a Collector quest and you get Obsidian... Cool, thanks...

and Yes, you can use Fertile dirt to grow plants... the Problem is it takes 40 per bowl... so its not practicle on a large scale project... But the benefits are enormous... Double growth sometimes and greatly reduced potion use... I'm just thinking "Purified" water could be beneficial too... But who knows if it even works....

I believe that is an old, dead quest, although I have never tried it, myself. It requires you to do at least two of the old "legacy" UO quests, the Collector's Quest (for obsidian pieces) and the Hag Quest (for Magical Moonfire Brew). Unfortunately with Stratics down I can't point you at links, but Grizelda the Hag can be found in the woods north of the Brigand Fort on the road from Skara Brae to Yew.

hehe... Well, I guess that makes me a "Legacy" UO Player... hehe... 109 mo and counting... hehe... Geezzz, I feel like a newbie again... hehe...

Although I did not find "Elrond" the collector, I did find a "Elwood" the collector at the Haven docks... So I'm doing the quests he gave to me... I'm on part 5 and I'm stuck... The Toymaker "Elwood" sent me to has given me another task, taking snapshots of which monsters I want him to make toys out of....

I found all the monster but 1, Blackwidow spiders... Where the Heck do they spawn at? stratics is down and the UO site is useless... I can find giant spiders in the forests and dread spiders in the dungeons...

Can I Buy a clue? hehe...

and thanks for the info on the "Hag" quest, I was thinking that was the old Hag in Doom... and I also thought "Moonfire" brew was a cooking thing...

Go to Isamu-Jima island in the Tokunos, and follow the road from the moongate. When the road curves due north, you'll be in a spider area, Black Widows spawn there.

Or go Nth east of Spritulity Shrine and find the Spider dungeon but BE careful Dont go too far inside.

BTW I'm on Baja and I have my piece of Obsidian... hehe... now I'm onto the "Hag" quest....

The 1st half was pretty tuff with the GrimReapers at the Yew graveyard... and now I'm stuck on the 2nd half... The Old Hag wants me to bring her the ingredients to make the Moonfire brew.... She wanted 5 Mongbat wings, so I killed 5 mongbats....

Now she wants 5 "Spirit escence"... hehe... What the heck is that? hehe... I killed 5 boneknights and 5 bone magi and thats not it...

Mmmm... maybe spiritspeak at 5 corpes....

You can get "spirit essence" by killing ghouls. If you don't want to venture into a graveyard, (reason enough not to with the GR there) you can go to the small valley near the AW lair at Ils Compassion and kill them.

Mmmm... OK, with everyones help I have completed the "Hag" quest.... Thank you all...

and I have had success with getting a Plaque beast core...

So, I now have my:
1- plaque beast core
1- Moonfire brew
1- piece of Obsidian

and I have ventured to the very spot deep in the solem hive... the spot that started it all... I am at the water purifier.... I read the book again to make sure that these are in fact the ingredients needed and YES, they are.... my heart starts to pound as I make sure all ingredients are in my main pack... my hand is shaking as I click the Apperatuse.... It makes a loud crash and a puff of smoke emminates as the handle turns and it make terrible rumbling noises.... It fills with water and says its purified now and dumps the water into the lake...

and then I wait... and wait... and wait.... hehe... Wow, this thing realy has NO purpose at all or maybe at one time it did.... and now its worthless.... I had fun today, I guess thats what counts right... hehe...

Thats too bad because we gardeners could have used Purified water for growing if you Dev guys bothered to set it up... It seems like all the programing is done, you just need to turn it ON... Let us fill a barrel full of water for 20 pitchers of Good water... Let it double the effects of Fertile dirt on our plants...
