Okay so the problem happened when I simply tried to enter the 20-digit code. For some reason after doing so it came up with the screens about the term and condition and then after getting pass those it come the the screen for the payment mthod and I can choose credit card and gametime card. I tired going into gametime card and re-entering the code from my copy of the game but it said it was incorrect. So I though maybe I already had my 30 free day so I went into the game and it said my account was blocked. The packaging of the game said I was meant to get 30 free days of gameplay with it. Here is exactly what it said on the back of the book in the game cover.

"NEW PLAYER ACCOUNT REGISTRATION CODE
To open and register a new account, go to www.ultima-registration.com, click CREATE ACCT and enter the registration code below. This code automatically applies your 30 free days of Ultima Online TM game time to your new account. The account will be able to use the Crystal and Shadow housing tiles, and will have a sixth character slot. If you don't already have an EA account, you will be asked to create one."

So I should have already have my game ready to go the moment I entered my registration code, but instead I just get forwarded to the payment option screen and when I go into the game my account is still blocked.

The only explanation I can imagine is that you have to sign to to a credit card payment subscription or something, but that makes no sense because I'm meant to get 30 FREE DAYS!! and I thought the code that comes with the game is meant to be used to claim my game time.

Please help me I was really looking forward to this game but it looks like i'm being stopped by a flaw registration system or something, I have no idea what the problem is, is it my mistake or the developers?

I believe you still put credit card info in, but you wont be charged until your 30 days is up. I may be wrong on this though...

No you are correct Snuggs... The credit card will not be charged for the first 30 days :grin:

actually it gets charged like one buck, but the charge is only to make sure its a working CC... and it gets returned within 24 hours.

But what if I don't want to play using a credit card, what if I want to play using Game Time cards?

Does it even allow me to do this for the first 30 days?

Okay I've continued to try and get it working and this is what has been happening.

I enter my product registration code and then I accept both of the terms and conditions agreements and then it comes up asking for my contact information, not the credit card information and then when I fill that out (all the fields) it goes back to the enter product registration code screen again except this time in a red box above it says invalid information entered. SO I still don't understand what Í am doing wrong, I won't even let we get to the credit card payment options if I even need to.

Help! I really want to play it, and if I require a credit card, then geez I probably won't be able to play for another month then, how do I use the 30 days as if it is game time credit? and as mentioned above how do I even get through the registration?

If you are getting an invalid code, I would double check all your info.

Main Culprits: Address on CC and mailing dont jive, missing a middle initial, your expiration date is wrong, etc.

Also, if you end up putting in Gametime codes, your CC will never be charged to play...

He's saying he doesn't want to enter CC info becuase he will just be playing and paying with game codes... But to get the fee 30 days, do you still need to enter CC info? I've never paid with gamecodes Setzertrancer, I'm sorry I can't be of much help. You might want to contact EA and ask them for help on this one.

When I created my account using a new account registration code that came with ML, I entered my cc info, but I didn't get charged, until after I used up the free trial. I think you can remove your cc info after, and just enter gametime codes.

If you still have trouble registering your account, I'd call EA and just do it over the phone, probably faster that way. Their website is wonky sometimes.

Okay it seems only one person understands him. He doesnt want to enter credit card AT ALL. I dont know why it won't take the gametime code. I agree with prev poster, and call them up.

Entering the CC info is probably just a way to track who is playing/opening what account.

Aside from an email addy (which can be totally anonymous) there is no (verifyable) identifying info on an account.

Now, alot of people balk at entering personally identifiable info, which I can understand to a point. Please note that if I personally ran an MMORPG, I certainly wouldnt let people roll in totally anonymously as a little bit of ID goes a long way toward people acting with some semblance of respect. If no one (including the game makers) know who you are, there isnt much reason to follow any rules. You can just make a new account if you get caught, yes?

Bottom line, I would absolutely hate for you to miss out on the UO experience that I and many other people have fallen in love with, but if its over as simple a matter of CC info which you can remove later, Im sorry, but thats just the way it is.

FYI, I created a new account last week and had the same problem using Firefox as my web browser. When I retried the registration with Internet Explorer, it worked.

Don't know if u got this working or not but i had a similiar problem when I tried to upgrade my account it asked for the same info inc cc info which I already had on file . Couldn't figure out why it was asking for info all over again. Doubled checked website to see if I could figure it out, finally the problem was when I entered game code I did not realize it was case sensitive and required all the dashes. In other words try entering the code EXACTLY like it is on box.
