I'm a new player who's just concocted 10 refresh potions for some NPC quest giver. However, whenever I try to give any of the potions, she says that I need to mark my quest items so that she doesn't the wrong items. I've tried putting all 10 potions in their own bag, but doesn't seem to work. What am I supposed to do?

You click yourself, then in that menu, you click "Toggle quest items" (or something similiar)
Then target each of the 10 potions.

From www.uo.com you can click the "support" section and go to game support. That'll take you to EA's support site where you can specify the game to be UO, and type in search words to the knowledge base.

I just tried it, and typing in "toggle quest item" gives the exact answer to this problem.

They really should get all this stuff into the playguide at uo.com though... but the knowledge base is a good place to look for now if you have a problem.

Thanks, everyone, but I now have a question whose answer I can't find on the support links. When I try to inscribe a recall scroll, it says I don't have the components. It says my inscription must be 17.8. Mine is 31.8. It says I must have 1 black pearl, 1 blood moss, and 1 mandrak root. I have 30 black pearls, 62 blood moss, and 40 mandrake roots. It says it also requires a blank scroll and mana. I have 15 blank scrolls and 48 mana, which was more than enough to cast lightning, which is of the fourth circle of magic just as recall is. I simply don't know what the problem is.

You need to have the spell in question within a spellbook in your pack. That's the only thing I can think of you might be missing.

You can only scribe spells which you've already "learned" yourself by having them contained in a spellbook. Or at least that's how it used to be and I suppose it still is.

Thanks, that solved the problem, but now I have a new one. I was trying to complete some new player quest designed for the mage template, when, suddenly, the game told me I had reached a respectable level and was no longer a young character. Does this mean I can't complete the quest I was doing anymore?

Nope, the [young] status shouldn't be a requirement for any quests as far as I know... especially if you've already begun the quest.

All it means is that since you're no longer [young], you can now enter Felucca and any hostile monsters and such will now target you at will.

Thanks! Another question, though: If you snoop into someone's backpack, will you get flagged as a criminal? If you steal, will healers refuse to resurrect you? Flag-wise, is there any meaningful difference between a thief and a murderer?

if you murder 5 or more people i think, i could be wrong as its been a while that I have checked up on how to become a murderer, (it might have changed) then ur name becomes red and you are a murderer, if u steal and become a criminal then your name turns grey but this does not last forever.. if you die while being a criminal and find a wandering healer or whatever then they will wait till your criminal status turns off and your name turns back to blue and you will be res'd... criminal status only lasts a few mins
