Help, Please?

I'm doing the Gareth The Emissary quest for the cloak. I'm at the stage where I need to donate to the Brit Library but I am not a member so I'm off on the Verite Librarian quest which requires 5 Speckled Scorpion Poison Sacs for Petrus. I have them, I return to Petrus and he don't know me! I can't highlight any of the Sacs as quest items: "That item does not match any of your quest criteria" (I also have the Dreadhorn quest). The Sacs are aging (3600 sec time limit).

HELP!!! What am I doing wrong???

I did this quest long ago, but it sounds like you are doing things correctly. Which client are you using? 2D or KR? I'm not sure if it even matters, but could someone maybe explain any differences with KR versus 2D on this quest?

I'm using 2D. I can't get KR to run on my computers. It says my login o password are incorect!

One odd item...
When I open the Quest Log for "The Secret Ingredient" (that's the 5 Speckled Poison Sacs quest)...
between the title line "Quest Log" and the title line "Secret Ingredent" is the word "Failed" in red. Neither of my other 2 quests has that.

Meaning???

So with minutes remaining on the Sac timers, I cancelled the quest and started over from the beginning. This time I was able able to designate the EXACT SAME 5 SACS as quest items.

Nice to see a game that is so completely bug-free!!!

The reason isn't a bug. The quest has a 3600 quest timer as well as the sacs. If you don't get the sacs before the actual quest timer expires, then you fail the quest, and have to restart it.

yep its always better when doing that quest to get the sacs first then go accept the quest then turn them in

Ahhh, didn't realize the quest had a timer also. I have done this quest (or helped with it) on a few occassions, and it was always a hassle to try to get the sacs quickly enough. In the future, we will gather them first... thanks everyone!
