Is anyone else having trouble getting runic fletching kits at the moment? I've just spent a good few hours and 25K boards turning in crossbows and I didn't even get an Oak kit! I know that they're rare and all, but the last time I did fletching quests I got both an oak and an ash kit within 2 hours and after a heck of a lot less boards.

Admittedly, I didn't come away completely empty handed - I managed to get all 5 rare recipes (and a few spares, which I'll give away), a few relatively nice bows and a couple of useful talismans. Not even a sniff of what I was hoping for though..

Any thoughts on this, please?

they are ALOT harder to get since before xmas.. they nerfed it to the ground.. thus why heartwood is totaly empty...

If they did to Tailors or Smiths what they did to Fletchers/Bowyers in regards to the runic kits...

I usually get two for every 60K boards.

Thank you all for the replies, very much appreciated. I turned in another 14k worth of boards, STILL with no luck. Again though - plenty of duplicate "rare" recipes. The first time I did the fletcher quests wasn't very long ago, most likely quite a while after the nerf.

When the missus goes to bed tonight, I'm going to do the quests in Sanctuary. I've given the Heartwood Elves more than enough bows for them to ponder over, perhaps the ones in Sanctuary might appreciate my generosity a little more!

I've never scored a single fletching runic from those quests... hardly anything else worthwile either, the items are rubbish in intensities usually and recipes - well I mostly get the same crappy ones, and I wouldn't have the ingredients to make the rare ones anyway even if I'd get them. I did once manage to get a heartwood carpentry runic, but that's it for Heartwood runics for me.

The only Heartwood quest that's proven worthwile for me is the Ancient World quest which I do regularly. The strongboxes have potential for ridiculous items with 5 properties around the 80-100% intensity range.

Finally! I lost count of how many boards I've been through, but I now have another runic fletching tool. "What is it?", you ask. Bleeding Oak.

I didn't actually make it to the Elf village in Sanctuary, I ended up taking a wrong turn in the ruins and gate crashing a seeminly private Gargoyle party. Back to Heartwood I went, though. This time in Felluca. I've only had the time to turn in bows for an hour this morning - the postie is bringing me a new keyboard, so I'll have to listen for the door.

However, I did receive:

Elven Composite Bow
Dragon Slayer
Hit Magic Arrow 22%
Hit Lower Defense 26%
SSI 15%
Damage Increase 18%

Not the best, but if I enhance with Frostwood, it'll have 30% DI and the SSI means that it will certainly beat the Dragon Slayer bow I'm currently using. I also received:

Ring
Animal Taming +10
Luck 47
DCI 7%
FCR 1
FC 1

You're right though - the bows that you receive are, for the most part, useless. However, I have kept a few of the slayer ones that had nice SSI and DI mods. Whether I'll use them or not is another matter

Adrianna if you need the fletching recipes, you're welcome to take the extra ones that I receive. Since I received them all myself already, I've just been giving them away to whomever needs them at WBB after I'm finished in Heartwood. I still have another 40K boards to work through, so if you say yes and I'll PM you when I have another full set

Sure, recipies are always welcome if you can spare 'em My online times are pretty erratic with work and other RL stuff but I'd be happy to take 'em off your hands whenever's convenient.

It's a crapshoot on getting runic kits. Before the nerf I probly used close to 100k boards and received 2 (1 oak, 1 ash) flether kits, after the nerf I've maybe burnt 80k boards and received 4 kits (3 oak, 1 yew), 2 in the same run.

What is the Ancient World quest? I looked for it on uostuff.com but they list the quest by the NPC name so I can't find it. One of the main reasons I totally quit doing the quests is there are too many, they are totally unorganized, and got boring quick. If there is a good one I would like to try it out.

I still do the Hag and Matriarch a lot. I really prefer the old quest system better.

I haven't done any of the hunting quests yet (bar the arcanist one), but I did pick up an "Orders From Minax" from my floor on my first day back at the WBB. I only found out what it actually was last month, so turned it in to Sarakki and I received 2 boxes, each containing around 8 items. No strongbox, but two rather good magical shortbows and a rather lovely cleaver

You really can't beat a good bit of scavenging!
