also, if your bonded fire beetle dies, you are still able to smelt ore

As I've posted previously, I play this game for my pleasure. Not for the size of my house or the number of rares I have. Maddux would have no need to be bandit with me i still believe in sharing and giving to anyone that needs what I dont.

however it might not be as fun for him if he doesntfeel like killing me.

2.Yes Because you smelt to ingots which u can carry OR bring packhorse
3.Depeds Prices vary shard to shard
4.Some if u train.

I find that mining with a fire beetle and a bonded packie fits me just fine. I have one of the "old" fire beetles and he doesn't fight well at all.
