Even mods need help :P

So I am busy doing guides to Quests in UOKR for New players,and have hit nothing but problems,which I have managed to sort out as a part of the learning curve..Now however I have hit a snag,or its a bug.

So where can I get help from in such a time as this *grins* ............UOForum of course !

So I began with the Mage Quest ,as I am most familiar with this role,and all goes well.

For those of you who have done this ,I get as far as Horace,and complete the task with the Katana.

Next Gwen gets me to open the radar map and shows me the Waypoint marker.

This is where everything goes pear shaped.

I begin walking down the 'path' toward the gate it tells me I will find.

Alas as I reach where the map leads me ,I cant find any sign of a gate.

So I am clicking around to see if I can find it,with no joy.

Also by this time ,my wayward point has dissapeared from the radar............

I close the map and reopen several times ...still no waypoint.

I logg out and back in ,still no waypoint.

At this stage I am thinking I have messed some thing up ,so I create a second 'new mage' and begin again .

I get to exactly the same point,but still cant find a gate where the pointer led me to.

Wayward point has once again dissapeared.



I have marked where the ponter was leading me to,with the Purple cross.[ and no it isnt hidden under the 'blue dot' ]



So I am hoping some one can tell me :-

Have I gone wrong somewhere ?

Has anyone got past this stage?

If so ,where is the darn gate ?

Presently I have 2 Mage characters stuck in the same spot.

I shall carry on with another character now, and hopefully manage to complete a Quest,while I await the wisdom and insight of our boardie's

Just for cross referencing, did you try this with the 2D client to see if its a glitch in the client? Worth a shot. If you can see it with 2D, and not KR, then its a bug with the client.

If not, then its a bug with the Quest.

Either way, appears to be a "bug".

No I didnt try it with 2d yet,tbh,I didnt think of that ,I was too much in KR client mode *grins*

Ill go try it now and thanks for such an obvious answer [ I miss the obvious so many times ,haha]

If i recall right, the gate is a bit more north. along the fence (round the corner).
I think the waypoints may be off-target a bit.

Okay,well I managed to keep the waypoint on the map this time with a Smith.



Same problem finding the gate though.Seems your right about it being off target.

I am practically stood on top of it here.



So after reading your helpful replies above,I will go in search of it again.I have reported this ,along with a few other things,and hope its soon fixed,as the game is confusing enough, as it is ,without getting lost on the Bright Path.

I did look around on a mage noob,but didnt find a gate but Ill follow your directions Stewan, after I have taken a break,Ive been at it since 8.30 am, and got nowhere

Why do these things have to take so long ,lol

Try to activate the in-game waypoint-markers, maybe?
On the large, square map, thereīs options (wait, didnīt you do the map-guide ).

Its easy when you know how I am totally new at this kind of interface,so experience it as a new player who has never played another mmorpg before , *grins*.

I would of quit without help, definately,BUT

Stewan offered me a 'guide' and I completed it in like 5 mins .
