essence of wind / thunderstorm

what's the duration formula for these spells? anyone got hit with this knows?

Spellweaving isn't very well documented. But Essence of Wind using 2/6 has the same duration as an EV with 0/6 casting. Thunderstorm is a little quicker. Spellweaving is a little to slow to cast, I wish they'd speed it up. It'd make it a more viable PvP skill then.

I meant the duration of the effects, the -fc -ssi thing and the -fcr thing.

also, does it lower only one point of fc(essence of wind) and only one point of fcr(thunderstorm)?

Both the spells you speak of are spammable spells - if you have 300 mana and 25 MR. The effects that they are are more or less instant and have no duration effects. Thunderstorm does damage around a targeted area. Essence of wind does area damage around the caster. The arcane focus level will determine both the strength and the diameter of the spell effects.

But as with all SW spells they have a long casting time.

I think it will also be based on your arcane empowerment (arcance circle). So I have to agree with unsupportable. Not sure anyone can tell you what you would like to know. Guess you could get a friend. Cast on him and time it for yourself. For a rough idea.

Its base 5 secounds plus 1 per arcanist for thunderstorm, so up to 11 secounds with a level 6 arcane focus.

For EoW it is a base 1-5 secounds plus 1 per arcane focus, so up to 6-11 secounds with a level 6 arcane focus.

The crappy part is that it goes against their resisting spells level

The effects won't be effected by arcane focus level, or you'd end up with -5 fc (assuming they had +2 to start with)

That would be overpowered. Lol.

Straight from Leurocian:

"Thunderstorm reduces spellcasting recovery by 6 for 5 + focus duration.

Essence of Wind reduces enemies attacks (1 * (1 + focus)) (swing speed)

And reduces casting speed (2 * (1 + focus))."

(This is why I regret passing notes on my graphing calculator in math class...)
