Duped Items

I apologize ahead of time on this and for the ones that may answer yet another question in regards to duping.

How can you tell if some one selling duped items or if someone's vendor is displaying?

Any information will do, thanks

I really wouldn't worry about buying the odd duped item. The UO Dev team have agreed that they will not be removing duped items from honest players. But if you have 50 ornies your account will be banned. But duper vendors sell very cheap, sometimes. They tend to have more than 1 of each artie.

Also, a duper will have multiple really rare event items like pacify and calm weps.

Since I am not much of a shopper. Who is to say what a cheap price is?? If a vendor has one of several different arties is he suspect?

I understand that someone with one or two duped items will not be banned. It would just be nice if I knew how to tell. I don't mind giving gold to an honest player. Just hate the thought of encouraging a duper

I agree with Vepl, I just don't shop enough to know what all arties go for nowadays.

If you find Ornys for 20 mil they're duped

If you find AoF for 10 mil, it's duped

If you find Inquisitors Resolution for 20 mil, it's duped

If you find a Crimson Cincture for 5 mil, it's duped

Generally this seems to be the going rates it will vary a little shard to shard:

Orny: 50-60m
Inquisitors Res: 35-50m
AoF: 30-45m
Crimson (blessed): 30-40m

actually, If I wanted to, I'd do that to my true arties just to PO the "highend" sellers (including dupers) that way we get a huge price drop and everyones happy except for the sellers:grin:

We actually sold a cincture for 15mil. Since we got them from doing peerlesses, we figured we're getting 15mil for free.
