I love this thing, saves time when gathering leather. Just wondering why it sometimes stops putting the leather in my pack and just leaves it on the corpse. I wasn't paying attention to the message I got so I had to backtrack to all the corpses and check for leather.

It stopped a few dragons ago.

For some reason when you get "close" to max weight. It will say you are overweight and leave them in the corpse. I think it has to do with the game mechanics technically putting the uncut leather in your backpack and then cutting it. If at anytime the game sees you are overweight it drops the leather back on the corpse or something like that

It appears to me that if the hides you are cutting up on a corpse would, if put into your pack, put the weight of the pack over 400 stones (normal pack limit) the leather will stay in the corpse. I lug along a packy and when I get a hundred leather or so I dump it in the packy. Far less annoying than going back through a dozen corpses or so.

Pretty sure when the cleaver first came out, it was posted somewhere official that it is supposed to stop putting it into your backpack when you get to within 100 stones of your max available.

Butcher's war cleaver is one of the most useful tools in my opinion.

Aye..Vepl is right..it goes off the weight of the uncut leather..not what the leather weighs after it is cut up so you get overweight quicker...just put it in your beetle or packy more often
