Bonding pets

I am trying to bond a lesser hiryu for an archer and a paladin. Neither character has animal taming, but the archer has 103+ bush and the paladin has 93 bush. I have been trying since I stable the pets 9 days ago to get them to bond. I didn't mess with them until day 7, then did the usual take them out/all follow me/feed. No joy, they simply stay as a tame. Noob question, but will they simply not bond with these chars due to no taming?

Re: Bonding pets

Just checking, but did you feed your hiryus before stabling them? Your bushido on both chars are high enough for them.

Re: Bonding pets

Yeah, i'm going to agree with Ally, bet you did not feed them before stabling. As a precaution, I always feed, then all follow/all guard me before stabling a pet I want to bond. Probably overkill, but it seems to work for me.

Re: Bonding pets

Not totally unusual for a pet to take longer then the seven days. Wait a couple of days and try again. I wouldn't get to concerned until it went longer then fourteen days though I never had it go that long
