Blackrock Elementals

I am abit confused about the Blackrock Elementals, do you only get them if you use Normal Picks and Shovels, or does it happen with the sturdy ones as well. If I mine in Luna will I be safe as my miner has no fighting skills.

Actually the digging instrument and the mining skill don't matter for blackrock elementals. The location is what matters. You have to dig somewhere that gives you a message about blackrock (such as west and then north of ophidian lair in T2A).

If it acts like normal terrain and gives a message about normal mining, it's not the right spot.

Re: Blackrock Elementals

I think debbie is worried about spawning one while mining. There's nothing that will keep you from spawning one while mining, except that I've HEARD that they only spawn when mining cave floors, so perhaps if you mountain mine, you'll be ok. Mind, I haven't verified this. Just what I've read here and there. But Arjuna is right, the digging tool you use isn't a factor.

Re: Blackrock Elementals

For what it's worth, I've been cave mining in Malas (w. of Umbra) extensively with regular shovel and have yet to see a Blackrock Ele.

My thoughts on this is that they will last until just before Kingdom Reborn comes out, then when the blackrock serves no purpose they'll tone it down a lot and fade the eleys out. For blackrock I think they may just become like moonstones and just become deco...

I do hope it leaves our homes intact.... It would be a sad day for many if they were destroyed by this blackrock infection....

Re: Blackrock Elementals

Ive been wondering about that also .I mean if walls of towns/cities are going to crumble and fall, how will all those iddy biddy wooden structures like woodmans and witches cottages stand up ?

OH NO and what about the Elves!!!! All those tree houses ....?

That would be neat...a whole new landscape! Crumbled castles and towers...except my tower would have to remain intact.
