Bear Infected with Blackrock

Hi, everybody.

I've been playing UO for about 6 months now, and just a few minutes ago, I saw something I'd never seen before.

I was on Origin, in the northern part of Yew (Tram), when I came across a brown bear that was infected with blackrock.

In all the time I've been playing UO, the only time I've seen blackrock infected creatures was during the Magincia invasion.

It moved really quickly like a paragon, but was pretty easy to kill. One flamestrike, and it went down.

Does anyone know if blackrock-infected creatures are going to be popping up everywhere now, or did I witness something rare?

Thanks in advance,
uNDEAD

Re: Bear Infected with Blackrock

There was a Blackrock event a while back..players that "played" with Blackrock could become tainted and infect creatures around them...along with hearing voices and stuff like that.. most likely you ran across a bear a player infected and left.

Try a blackrock infected ancient wyrm for a change

The devs stated at some point that there would be consequences for blackrock infected players.

Another thing is that blackrock infected creatures sometimes have a "chest" on them a bit like paragons.

Re: Bear Infected with Blackrock

Is there a way to remove blackrock infection? Seems like it could be an easy griefing tool...

Re: Bear Infected with Blackrock

No you can't, but the infection is purely random so it cannot be abused a lot.

Re: Bear Infected with Blackrock

I've been running across an increased number of blackrock infected animals near Moonglow on LS also. Nothing scary (cats, etc) but it seems a bit odd all of a sudden.

Re: Bear Infected with Blackrock

Funny you should say that... I just bought that movie at the local wally-world two days ago, and was contemplating watching it finally!

Re: Bear Infected with Blackrock

oh good... that was my primary reason for delaying watching it. I like that type of movie, but had a sneaking feeling it was going to be super-cheese.

Oh, found 3 more blackrock animals today near Trinsic. Just fyi, in case someone is tracking them now... lol...
