Arctic Ogre Lords?

I'm playing on Lake Austin and I got bored with regular Ogre Lords from Despise. I thought Arctic ones would be much more difficult for me because I'm using Soul Seeker, which is 100% cold damage. I'm doing an average of 140 damage per hit with it! Is there something wrong with the Arctic Ogre Lords?

Re: Arctic Ogre Lords?

According to Stratics they have a near identical skills and stats set, but the arctic ones are supposed to have higher cold resistance
So you "should" do less damage if you're weapon is 100% cold damage
But I guess not, hehe

Re: Arctic Ogre Lords?

According to the description of the consecrate weapon spell, that changes the type of damage you do against your opponant according to their resistances. If you didn't use that spell, only enemy of one, they may be more challenging. Of course, could make you closer friends to the icy floor too, but I suggest you see the damage you do against each without the consecrate weapon spell and I think the difference may be more apparent.

Re: Arctic Ogre Lords?

do not forget that soulseeker is also a respond slayer which provides a damage boost versus all humanoid opponents.

Just curious, what do you mean by "they can be used as pets"? That you can charm them or literally tame them? Man being able to tame one of these would be quite awsome!

Re: Arctic Ogre Lords?

Charming them, they are in the humanoid category. My friends often take one or two for peerless. They make nice pets.

Re: Arctic Ogre Lords?

jokko,

there is a spell in the spellweaving book (dryad allure) which allows you to charm a monster. It is similar to tame except the monster that is charmed will not bond to you, nor can they be stabled (not 100% sure about this, as I do not spellweave). I believe the charm wears off if you leave the creature by itself on screen to say recall to the bank/house, and it wears off once the creature has died. Which would then allow you to charm another monster.
