About smithing

Did you make your char with 50 Mining & 50 Smithing?

Wow that is the strangest thing I've heard. When you click your hammer, it should bring up a menu screen with no pictures, just items to make. (plate, ringmail, bladed, bashing. etc..) I have not heard of such a thing. I got nothing for that..

Ok, do this. If you have a smith's hammer equipped, then unequip it and place it in your backpack. Also in your backpack should be a supply of iron ingots, forty of them should be enough to craft at least a dagger.

Go to a smithy and stand next to a forge and anvil. Double-click on on the SMITH's HAMMER IN YOUR PACK. This should bring up a smithy menu, NOT a targeting cursor. On the bottom left of this menu you should see the word IRON. If you see any other metal than iron, click the box and change the metal back to iron.

On the upper part of the menu, choose BLADED. Find the menu choice DAGGER, and click the box to the left of it. If you are indeed standing next to a forge and anvil, you should make (or try to make) a dagger.

If this doesn't help, I would suggest meeting someone in game and asking them to help you.

You sure you're not double clicking the pickaxe? Double clicking the smiths hammer shouldn't bring up a target reticle

He said tho when he clicks it, he gets a picture of a shield and a sword. I have never heard of that option coming up before. Are you sure you're playing UO?? hehe...

I thinking from his description that he was double clicking the pick as well instead of the hammer. Just a guess....

Whats funny is that is how I always typed it too! hehehe

Im going to say PRS for the simple reason that he sure seemed like he had a clue, but couldnt really take it anywhere...
