in game i have 40 ingots i have a smiths hammer and when i go to an anvil and forge i double click on my ingots witch gives me 2 options 1 shields 2 weapons i double click on shields it says that i cant make anything with what i have. Then i try weapons i double click it gives me one option fencing i double click that it says that i cant make anything with what i have... my smithing is 42+ what am i doing wrong?

To make something via blacksmithing, doubleclick your smith tool, in your case a hammer. This brings up the smithing menu with which you can make items. Remember that you must be standing at a forge and anvil to make smithed items.

I'm going to assume that the ore you have is iron. What is your mining at? You might need more mining to be able to smelt the ore into ingots. Usually to smelt the ore into ingots you will have one of two things happen...1) the ore turns into ingots...2) you lose half the ingots and have to try again. Never heard of the option to make weapons or armor come up before.

Is it saying you don't have the resources to make it? Make sure the ore is set to regular Iron and not a colored ore. 2ndly if your using UOA, make sure you count your resources.

what do you mean Regural iron? i just mined it off a rock and i forged it into ingots..and I have 40! my blacksmithing is 42! but i dont have the option to even make daggers!

Make sure the ore is in your pack and you are standing near a anvil & forge. Make sure you are using a smith's hammer, tongs or sledge hammer. Double click the tool (hammer), it will open the interface up and click the button under smelt, choose iron. Then choose whatever you'd like to make. Everything should show I would think, and it will say you don't have enough skill to attempt to make a item if you do not. HOpe that helps!

on the blacksmithing menu, there is a tab that says "iron".
that defines what metal you will be using, it brings up a list of the, what, 9 metals? But since your smithy is low you wont even get the option to use another metal, so that theory wont work.

Are you sure you are using a smithy hammer? Or are you using like a war hammer or another type of hammer? Go to the smith NPC and buy a set of tongs, and try there. It may get you going

ok...this is exactly what happens ok i will explain...I goto mine iron ore... i get like 40 ore so i goto a forge and i double click when i do it turns all my iron ore into iron ingots. so i take my SMITHS hammer and i double click on that and it gives me a target thing so i target my ingots and when i do it gives a litle box in the corner with an image of a shield and another image of a sword so i double click sword it gives me another option saying fencing when i click that it says quote " You cant make anything with what you have"

this is really starting to piss me off...cause i chose my charachter as a black smith so i dont really no how to make money any other way...

what shard are you on?
