9th aniv coins

the off orange/brownish coins that came with the crystal and shadow item deeds ...

what is their purpose?

double click them and off in the bottom left hand corner of your screen, words come up like:

serpent

any info on this strange phenomenom would be good.

Its just a little piece of deco.

When dbl-clicked it says either "Serpent" or "Ankh." One is heads, the other tails. So if your ever having an argument in UO and want to "flip a coin" to decide the outcome, now you have one

Uh, why is a little piece of deco terrible? Many of the rarest and most valuable items in UO do nothing except look cool...

Id also be willing to bet that if you tossed it on the ground at a bank, someone that did like it would find it and be appreciative...

i'll agree with the looking cool part - but shouldn't it have a purpose like the cyrstal and shadow deeds we also have? you could save them up for a bigger item/weapon or something worthwhile.

but oh no - instead - here's a dullard of a coin that you can settle lil' arguments with - enjoy it and be happy with what you have mister.

Well, ya could allways trade it with someone for another shadow/crystal deed.

You'll often find houses with like 10 different gift coins. For events and to show how long they've been in the game. Why did everyone on sonoma spend 20 minutes in the Tram star room just to get a Sash of The Royal Britanian Guard??? Its an item that gives you a status in UO. Just like riding a Fire Steed, or the library reward that simply gives you a title under your name. It makes people take notice of you. Or the guys that bank sit in a full set of Ranger armor.

For those of us who are avid Roleplayers or home deco fanatics,such trinkets as these are invaluable,

I get that these things have some value to some players. However, since every char on every shard got exactly the same thing, how valuable/rare will they ever be?
